no doubt in my mind now: President Obama IS the future
I was skeptical at first. As much as I liked the guy and would love to see him in the White House with his name, I still have doubts over whether this country would elect a black man with this. His speech ended a lot of those doubts. But this ended the remainder of them, even the FREEPERS are impressed with him:

I watched his speech. He's slick, he's clear, he's concise. He could indeed be a president. I don't agree with his politics, but he definately could convince legions with his presentation. Hell, he almost convinvced me until I started doing searches on his name here on FR Face it, him or Kerry 2004, this guy wins. He's only slightly right of Kerry, but I'd take that slight advantage over flipper. I frankly don't think race is that big of an issue any longer. I don't see it that way. Kerry, Obama I vote Obama Obama Rice, I vote Rice Race isn't an issue for me(hasn't ever been), and I don't think I'm alone.

I agree. Politics aside, he seems to have what it takes. I'd take him over Hillary any day. Too bad he can't grow more of a brain and come over to the Good Side.

Anyone who thinks that Obama could not possibly end up in the Whitehouse has their head buried in the sand. I saw his speech and it was overpowering. Obama is absolutely brilliant and charismatic speaker, and comes off as a genuinely nice guy.

His policies, well that's another matter...

Yup, agreed. He's got what it takes. In fact, much of what he speaks about hits. He's too young right now to run for highest office, but there's no doubt he could start that run 10 years from now.

He's also got some points. I agree with him on several things he brought up and I am further right than Reagan about a number of things. I think that if he were 10 years older and the defacto nominee for 2004, he'd be poised to unseat Bush. Hell, just listening to the guy, he makes sense...a little heavy on the "poor" rhetoric, but he's not a nutty Dean.

And as I said before, I have no race issues. I'd vote Powell or Rice before this guy over Kerry.

1. Well, that's a good sign.

I was expecting to see FR quotes calling for a good old fashioned lynching, or referring to him as "Obama bin Laden." These people live on the fucking moon, but even from there they can see how bright Obama shines.

I too feel like I've witnessed history tonight.

3. But
I STILL like Eliot Spitzer
and I am only reassured by the freepers' dislike of him.
Remember,
freepers LIKE Clarence Thomas.
