I flipped around- ABC, NBC, CNN. The coverage, at least what I saw, was nothing but glowing reviews for Teresa Heinz Kerry and Barack Obama.

Did I miss something?

1. Does that mean CNN will actually interview Democrats?
Instead of Republicans?

2. MSRNC
Let Mary Matalin rant for about 10 minutes on Imus.

I took as much as I could but flipped in and out when she said something about the "central truth" being that Iraq was a major battle in the war on terror.

sheeeesh! These people NEVER give it up.........

On CNN, Heidi Collins was interviewing another woman about Teresa. Heidi did her absolute best to bring out negatives about Teresa...the lady (an author, I think) wasn't letting her get away with it.

10. I saw Lieberman on Imus
he still sounds like Cheney.

There still might be WMDs, Saddam assisted al Queda, and on and on about how Bush was correct.

What an Asshole. He's an intellectually dishonest Zell Miller. At least Zell is at the proper convention for his beliefs.

If I was a delegate in Boston, I would walk out when he appeared on the stage.

4. I went to bed early last night (after all of the speeches)
When I woke up this morning, my husband was telling me how Ron Reagan handed Dead intern boy his ass last night about stem cell research! Apparently Joe has a 14 year old son with juvenile diabetes and is against embryonic stem cell research. Those were apparently fighting words for Reagan and he handed Joe his ass on a silver platter. My husband was most impressed. Maybe other "pundits" will follow his lead.

8. Actually...
Joe said last night that he was for stem cell research because of his sons problems....typical repub...they are only for something that can help so many people only when it directly affects them!

11. Hmm...
Like I said, I didn't see it but my husband said that Reagan told Joe that he found it despicable that he would let his son continue to suffer because of an idealogical belief. He told Joe he didn't know the difference between a cell and a fetus.

Was it someone else Reagan was arguing with?

My husband despises Joe so I was wondering if his dislike for Joe got in the way of how he told me the story. Thanks for the clarification! :hi:

5. ABC ran a dumb piece stating that Dems had toned it down and censored

speeches removing offensive paragraphs and by doing so many Democrats were disappointed. I can't recall the name of the ABC reporter guy who presented this analysis on GMA but he was spouting falsehoods. If he thinks Carter, Ted Kennedy, Teresa Kerry or Obama had their speeches toned down or rewritten causing Dems to be disappointed, he must not have listened to their hard-hitting speeches and must be ignorant of the great response by Dems.

At least the Dems are capable of writing their own unique speeches, more than you can say for most of the Repubs.

12. Katie's questions to Russert were all leading
right-wing talking points.

"Are they preaching to the choir or are they trying to
reach undecided voters?" Implying that the Dems don't
believe in anything.

13. it's not just you!
free republic is (extra) LAME today. They just ran out of fire or something. The most they can bitch about is how people pronounce Tuh-Ray-Zuh Kerry's name.

HOWEVER -- the NPR bit this morning was DISGUSTING. They are turning into Fox - provided a very thinly veiled Republican "news" piece about the convention where they said that all we did was engage in Bush bashing.

Note to NPR: don't ever ask me for money again.

14. Katie Couric got her zinger in
Katie, who looks more and more like an animated Barbie doll with every passing day, interviewed Elizabeth Edwards on "Today."

Just about the first thing out of Katie's mouth was a question about Teresa Keinz Kerry's having said "shove it," as IF that were the most pressing issue on the planet.

Edwards deftly turned the subject to all the wonderful, inspiring things Teresa said in her speech, leaving Katie flat-footed and looking like a ninny.

I used to like Couric years ago, but I think she's had a corporate lobotomy.

21. My first thought, too -- though w/o the speech impediment
Faux (and my wingnut relatives who live in Illinois) has not failed to mention that "he has the most liberal voting record in the Illinois congress." But even they seem to think he's at least a good speaker.

23. That's a trick
They will praise Obama as a way to put down Kerry. Later in the campaign, the first time Kerry takes a little dip in the polls the whore chorus will start in on how the Democrats should have picked Obama instead.

They did the same thing in 84, yapping about how Cuomo would have been a more inspiring candidate than Mondale.

27. Quite funny
to see the wind knocked out of the media who now discovers their relative weakness and even worse, banishment from power of their main guys and ideologies coming fast on the horizon. This is the collapse, the discouragement that heralds those who know they have lost and they fade.

It seems that way clearly because the Dems themselves have been in that mental state many times- even when they eventually won(though never as much as they should have).

Their faces and speech are a dead giveaway of party affiliation. Very few wiser heads in the whole sorry bunch, unlike the days of Cronkite and company. The only thing left of their four year media party is the hollow pretending, the lack of acceptance, the private mourning of Babylon the Fallen.

The Democrats are in the ascent.

30. They still own the mainstream media, though.
And no election will change that. It will take some savy and strongly ethical buisnessfolk to change the media, if it's even possible.
