National Guard Officer Candidates dwindling As War Demands Increase
"Duffey and others blame the shortfall on the fact that many of the potential recruits are either deployed overseas and can't apply, just back from the war and missed the deadline, or unwilling to commit to a six-year obligation after finishing OCS, particularly as the Pentagon presses its Guard and Reserve forces into duty far more frequently these days."

You think?

BTW, Camp Rell (formerly known as camp rowland, as we change the name for the sitting governor), is just around the corner from my house. Lovely place on the Niantic River, which must seem lightyears away from places that they will be sent once they graduate.

1. Maybe if they offered better benefits and would take care of injured
soldiers the Pentagon could attract more recruits...
