I know, lurking freeper - it's not his fault, at least not directly, right?

Just consider it another 100 or so Iraqis "liberated".

1. Are you saying Iraq isn't better off now than with Saddam in power?
Cause if you are, right on.

Not just Iraq, but the world. The world was better off with an America that believed in the equality of all humans and the rule of law, rather than an America that believes that just because we can do something we are justified in doing it. We have returned the world to the 19th century of colonialist superpowers, and undone the work of five decades since WW II. THAT is not an improvement.

4. I'm always reminded of that scene in "Three Kings"...
...where, after the end of the Gulf War, a reporter asks a group of soldiers an open-ended question about the state of geopolitics at that moment.

She gets blank stares for a beat, until one soldier pipes up, "We liberated Kuwait!" and he and all his buddies jump up and down, hooting and hollering.

That's more or less Joe Six-Pack's understanding of what's going on in Iraq.

2. I saw a post on DU yesterday
that asked the question, would you trade 1000 American lives to have Saddam in captivity?
