Except maybe I just imagined this, but it seemed that Dean had a hard time with his speech. I thought he almost became choked up at one point. Perhaps I was just projecting, but it broke my heart.

7. I think he was off his game a bit. |
|
I'm hoping he can get back to his role of party conscience - I think he serves a good purpose there, with his ability to rally people to a cause and put some fire in their eyes. And he's a good fund raiser.

And found it fascinating. Very good speeches - especially by Obama. Sure hope he can keep it together for a few years - I would enjoy voting for him.

I still get giddy thinking of Obama's speech. Honestly, I knew very little of the man other than what I read about him here. I really didn't know what to expect. WOW! This convention has been amazing so far. I've been a total couch potato, glued to every second of every speech and I'm so proud of our party!

6. It's Been a Great Week to be a Democrat |

and I never felt prouder of this party than I do at this moment.
Our party is the party of the future - we are rising out of the ashes of 2000 and 2002 to achieve greatness.
For the first time in a long time, I feel optimistic about the future and that is why Kerry/Edwards is going to win in November.

I didn't learn anything about John Kerry that I didn't already know; I always assumed that the purpose of these speeches by wives was to humanize the candidate.
Her life story is interesting, I guess, but I frankly don't care about the wives of the candidates that much.

22. What I learned about John Kerry from Teresa's speech |
|
is that he was smart enough to recognize a brilliant life partner when he saw her, and that he must remain interesting enough to keep her.
That's not a bad thing to know.

13. Last night was incredible!!! |
|
Opening night.. I thought.. wow, how can you top that! Carter, Gore, and Clinton... Then last night, I was wowed again. Wexler, Obama, Dean, and our future First Lady. Great event. I think Dan Rather is so clueless in dissing the convention for being "boring". It's really wonderful. I only WISH the broadcast news would find it in their hearts to actually TELEVISE the convention.. Pundits say that people feel disconnected from the political process, etc., they say that the voters don't know Kerry, and YET they refuse to carry the conventions, run only stories generated by Bush press releases ABOUT Kerry. They're not doing their job..

The speeches have been wonderful! Like water on a wilted plant. I so needed to hear a speech like Obama's. And I thought President Carter the other night was fantastic - not only his speech, but the way he defended what he said afterwards.
A great time for Democrats.

Gore-Carter-Clinton gave us a glimpse into what was and should have been which restored our faith...
Kennedy-Dean-Obama-Heinz-Kerry personalized it which restores our resolve.
