Isn't it illegal for Cheney to campaign when awarding medals?
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- Vice President Dick Cheney told Marines that Democrats John Kerry and John Edwards voted in favor of the use of force against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein but changed their tune on the question of providing money to the troops fighting in Iraq.

"When Congress voted to authorize force against Saddam Hussein, Senators Kerry and Edwards voted yes," Cheney told the troops at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base on Tueaday. "But when it came time to fund the troops doing the fighting in Iraq, it was another story."

President Bush and Cheney are locked in a close race with Kerry and Edwards, who are accepting their party's nominations in Boston this week. Bush has been taking time off at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. But Cheney is still campaigning.
...
After his speech, Cheney presented medals to Marines home from Iraq.

There was an article here recently that told of some base commander being in hot water for wearing a uniform at a Bush rally. Why is this Cheney morph of campaigning with official military duty not a problem?

1. I hope the DNC/Kerry Campaign jumps on this
Talking to the troops is fine - campaigning in front of them is just wrong.

4. We had the same problem in Arkansas
Cheney came down for what he said was an official visit to inspect local Wal-Marts. But when he arrived he started campaigning. And considering taxpayers were paying for this 'official' trip with our taxes, he had to quickly change his story over why he was here.

If this is a trip that we are paying for with taxes, he needs to be called on it!

5. Here's the article about uniforms at rallys
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- The U.S. Army Reserve Command is reviewing a complaint about the involvement of troops from Fort McCoy when President Bush held a campaign rally in La Crosse May 7, a base spokeswoman says.

Because of the pending review, "it's inappropriate to comment at this time," Fort McCoy spokeswoman Linda Fournier told the La Crosse Tribune, as reported in Wednesday's edition.

A group called Coulee Region Concerned Citizens, whose members protested Bush's appearance, filed a complaint with the Army about the involvement of soldiers in the campaign rally held at Copeland Park.

The group complained that Col. Danny Nobles, garrison commander at Fort McCoy, attended the rally in his Army uniform.

6. Illegal? Has that ever stopped Cheney before?
Remember, Cheney's above the law. His duck hunting partner on the Supreme Court says so.

7. The Concept of Legality DOES NOT APPLY to the Imperial Family
of Amerika, their Allies and assorted stooges.
The Busheviks, like all other Totalitarians operate on ONE principal alone...

CAN you stop us?

If we don't stop them, whatever they did is legal.

Period.

Just like Hitler and Stalin.

IDENTICAL. The only difference, for the moment, is what actual "initiatives" psuhed through.
