7/28/04 Pro-Bush rally to raise 'Fahrenheit 9/11' temperatures
By MIGUEL LISCANO Tribune-Herald staff writer
When Michael Moore brings his controversial film Fahrenheit 9/11 to President Bush's adopted hometown tonight, Republicans will be there to counter the anti-Bush blockbuster.

Republicans say Bush loyalists are coming from as far away as San Antonio for a rally in support of the president at the Coffee Station in downtown Crawford at 8:30 p.m., a half-hour before the movie is set to screen about a mile away.

Organizers stress the rally is an effort to show support for Crawford's most famous resident, and not necessarily to protest the film or its screening.

The Protest Warriors and the Young Conservative Texans are going to be there as well as the International Media. Please find a way to get there if you can..

You just have to love these little "Protest Warriors", there is nothing else left to do with them.

6. Film everything from several different angles if you have the
resources.

If they become violent you can prove what occurred.

7. Sorry. Can't be there.
My husband is working and I have two young'uns, one of which has a disability. Crawford is about 4.5 hours away. I wish I could go.

Part of the problem is that Waco and Crawford are more rural, and that is "Bible Belt" country. Hard to find large accumulations of Dems there; they have mostly have to travel in.

9. The problem is WACO period
Waco is the closest city and is WAY CONSERVATIVE. However, Austin is only a 2.5 hour drive. Hopefully some Dems will make the trip.

12. This must be why Moore won't be there
He's decided not to go. Honestly, Crawford, population <800 is really not in the position to handle hundreds of protesters from either side.

14. Ha...
The tag line of the last poster on the protestwarrior.com board sums it up pretty well:
