12 Generals and Admirals Endorse John Kerry (today)

12 Generals and Admirals Endorse John Kerry; Military Leaders to Speak and Take Part in Video Tribute in Boston Wednesday

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=109-07282004

In an unprecedented display of support from the military establishment, twelve retired generals and admirals endorsed John Kerry for president of the United States on Wednesday. These distinguished flag officers join the ranks of tens of thousands of veterans -- including over 500 veteran delegates in Boston -- who want a stronger, more secure America and their fellow veteran John Kerry to be the next Commander-in-Chief.

The endorsement comes on the day the convention is focused on the Kerry-Edwards plan to make a stronger, more secure America. General John Shalikashvili (Ret.) will speak at the Convention on Wednesday evening and be introduced by Lieutenant General Claudia Kennedy (Ret.). There will be a special video tribute to John Kerry featuring distinguished flag officers talking about what is at stake in this election and why they support John Kerry to build a strong America, respected in the world.

(there is a list with short bios of the officers)

8. Spin? I'll give you spin!
So Kerry could only find 12?

Out of how many?

This is pitiful!

***

I'll bet that's how it gets spun. If I could stand even 30 seconds of Rushbo, I'd listen for it, but... :puke:

14. Yep, I can see that.
Or they pull some crap claiming all 12 worked their way up the rank without seeing combat. The Pukes just can't accept the fact that no one they think is on their side actually is.

too good for Kerry and might gain him too many votes.

And if there is, it'll be buried. This is the type of thing that folks want to hear about, too. Folks want to know why these high ranking military people are endorsing Sen. Kerry for POTUS.

9. Notice the press didn't cover the vet rally on Monday?
A huge room filled with vets rallying for Kerry and no news network could find the time to squeeze it in between their Teresa bashing and their prescripted Republican talking points.

I would have liked to have seen what some widespread coverage of the rally Will was talking about... seen Cleland's reception there...

18. For every retired senior officer, there are several more of....
...their senior-level friends on active duty that are thinking the exact same thing. And that kind of influence travels down through the ranks in informal get-togethers, bars, restaurants, and any other place where military men congregate and speak openly.

FratBoy's in for a very rude shock in November.

21. Claudia Kennedy was actually an early Kerry backer
and Clark has been backing Kerry for a while now too. Nice to see others behind him. I didnt know that General Shalikashvili was a dem, I thought I heard he was conservative.

23. Online petition..
Someone should put together an online petition that would exist for retired (active) military personnel to endorse G.W.'s replacement.

That would be something to see...

29. The Military People
Are going to be the toughest sell, but Senator Kerry’s devotion to this country and his willing sacrifice for it resonates with our veterans and soldiers.

They put their ass on the line…Yea, war sucks…I hate the fact we literally shower billions on top of defense contactors and I get annoyed with overt nationalistic jingoism, but those soldiers do sacrifice for us and are willing to take a bullet for us.

John Kerry was willing to take a bullet for us. While the Vietnam war was the wrong war for the wrong time, John Kerry out of devotion, duty and honor laid down his cushy life of opulence and privilege this nation had granted him and wanted to give back in some way.

Unlike G.W.Bush and so many others who raise the drum beat bar higher and higher, Kerry served, honorably.

The soldiers now dogging bullets and grenades and those who at one time did HAVE TO look at John Kerry as one of them…a man willing to give back to our nation, to put his LIFE 2nd to OUR NATION.
