1. I will
Keep your friends close.

Keep your enemies closer.

It's important we know what they are doing and saying in order to counter the lies.

8. I will watch as much as I can stand.
It does help you to learn who some of the rising stars in the parties are -- the "other" speakers they put on to fill time between the major speakers.

I wanna know who the enemy is.

But if my blood pressure starts rising, I'll have to take a break.

10. Maybe for a few minutes.
Not for the speeches but to see the delegates. Sure it won't look like America. Mute will be on. Expecting the usual phoney flag waving and patriotic music and lots of Dem bashing because that's all they can do they have nothing else to campaign on.

on the radio or tv. I don't think I'd watch their convention except for a comparison to the Nazi rallies. Nah, but I'm going to watch PBS coverage of DNC like I have been.

18. I couldn't watch it
The preview supplied by the cheney speech at the marine base this week was enough. The thrust of the message will be we are safer because the chimp is in charge, and that Saddam is no longer a "gathering threat". Never mind that 9/11 was caused by the willful and basic neglect of the squatter.

19. Definitely
Although I will need plenty of dramamine.

I'm particularly interested in seeing how they play it, and how the convention is received. We all need to play a role on the rapid response team to correct the BS that will be flowing thick in NYC.

I'm also hoping there will be enough protests out on the streets that some may sneak through into prime time.

25. I will probably watch at least some of the prime time coverage.
What can I say? I am basically a political junkie--I have to keep up with what is going on in politics. Plus, I am curious about how they will present themselves--etc. I also need to know what was said--I will probably have to refute some of it when I talk to friends and family.

24. I'll definitely watch Chimpy, and may tune in some of the other BS
Two reasons:

(1) There's always a chance that this will turn into another 1992-style clusterfuck fiasco, and I wouldn't want to miss that.

(2) I've discovered that if you have a couple of hard ciders or shots, Bush speeches are absolutely hilarious - "AHHHHH!!! 'Nukewler!!' He said it again!!"

27. I'll probably listen to AAR's coverage of
their event.

I've been watching PBS and it's been pretty balanced,
but I doubt that will hold for the Thug event. (I've been
able to avoid the nets' pathetic hour of coverage.
Also, lucky me I don't have cable, so I've been able to
avoid that wretched nonsense as well.)

30. I'll try...
I've always watched the RNC, just to see what kind of trash they're up to. It's also instructive - after GHWB's speech in 1988, I knew it was over, just as I knew we'd win after their 1992 hide-the-kiddies hatefest.

Still, this may be the first one I may have to skip. I just hate these bastards so much, these criminals of the Reich, that my head might explode. I'll try, but I'm not sure I'll succeed.

37. The RNC may be good...for a laugh.
http://www.allamericanpatriots.com/m-wfsection+article+articleid-1397.html

From the list of speakers:

Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) Sen. Santorum, who has served in the United States Senate since 1995, is now the third ranking Republican in the Senate and serves as Conference Chairman. Sen. Santorum is a leader in the fight to reform and improve America's social welfare system and he has worked closely with President Bush on numerous aspects of his compassion agenda. Sen. Santorum currently serves as co-chair of the Bush-Cheney '04 Pennsylvania Leadership Team.

"compassion agenda". Does anyone else see the irony in this?
I'll be waiting for Rick to start foaming at the mouth.

Also Dole had done nothing substantial for NC but be a Bush rubber stamp and parrot.

Falwell's appearance should be red meat for the rabid mouth-breathers.

39. I will probably watch very selectively.
I haven't seen the speakers list, but I will check it out and try to listen to a few slelct moments. I also will be curoius to hear how the media plays it.

This convention (the Dems), I mostly watch c-span because you miss too many speakers I really want to hear if you just tune into cable. The Pub one, I will probbly flip between CNN & MSNBC when I want to hear something.

Beyond that, I'm back to regular tv.
