I Need Help in Convincing a Friend to Vote for Kerry
I've been working on this guy for two years now. I've finally convinced him not to vote for Bush, but he has a real problem with voting for Kerry. Here's his challenge to me, and I need some good references on Kerry's position on educational funding/grants. Any help would be appreciated. :)

<snip>

Here is how you can get Kerry / Edwards 2 more votes (mine and my wife's) this November. Our business is starting to get some promising leads on whole school contracts in inner city schools. These schools are well equipped technologically but do not have the resources to deploy a curriculum and program to teach the students how to use it. This is where we step in and we have already landed some good projects that are funded by educational grant money. Now I know what you're thinking... I'm just after the grant money... well.. that may be true but understand, this is a business I really believe in <snip> To me there is no better way to earn money. Soooo, if you can prove to me that there will be more grant money for children's educational services available under a Kerry administration than a Bush administration, (and the proof has to be in the form of actual policy statement or historical legislation he has passed. Not a diatribe on how democrats care more about education than republicans.), then he will have mine and my wife's vote.

8. More specifically:
http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/education/resources.html

Excerpt:

Invest in School Construction and Modernization. Today, 14 million children are learning in sub-standard schools in need of major renovation, and half of all schools have a condition like polluted drinking water or soot-filled ventilation. As president, John Kerry and John Edwards will allow the federal government to issue $24.8 billion in school modernization bonds to help states and school districts repair and build modern schools. John Kerry and John Edwards support public school choice and charter schools, and because the greatest barrier to expanding charter schools is lack of facilities funding, the Kerry-Edwards school construction fund will dedicate funding for charter schools. The program will also support efforts to break up struggling large schools into smaller units.

2. Your friend is a selfish jerk
He sounds like he is innately Republican. I wouldn't bother. Really, his only criteria is that there be more money going into his pockets, personally? What a creep.

4. Ok... not a friend... more like a boss...
I agree that it's a selfish stand, but I'm going for the vote.

7. So what?
We shouldn't discount the significance of even two votes, if it's in a battleground state. Those two votes might then multiply, e.g. if the friend gets his employees or business associates to vote Kerry too.

he's loading his own pockets with tax dollars.

3. Tell him since Bush is too evil to vote for he has:
John Kerry
Ralph Nader

The choice is yours...Unless Roy Moore runs. Or he could write in Mickey Mouse.

10. Just a little off topic
But make him aware of Kerry's plan to provide businesses with a 50% tax credit for employee's health care coverage.
