Goodbye, CNN......
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 02:48 PM by LunaC
Just a reminder to TELL the media how you feel.........

***************************************************

Goodbye, CNN......

There was a time when you reported the news according to basic journalistic principles....."Just the fact, ma'am. Just the facts."

Now, however, your newscasters intentionally shade and shape their semantics towards a right-wing bias that smacks of organized Conservative propaganda. Blitzer, Woodruff and Crowley are the most blatant, aggregious and obnoxious examples of this practice.

That you allow the White House to influence your reporting (ala the Letterman fiasco) is simply unprofessional, unamerican and unacceptable.

My days of enduring skewed and distorted news are over! I can no longer - in good conscience - support you as a viewer and am changing the channel to the news agencies that still maintain honesty, integrity and non-bias in their reporting.

Goodbye, CNN. Goodbye!

Which news organizations are honest and non-bias in their reporting?

Just curious.

14. To be honest, not many
But when one goes storming off in a huff, that can't be openly admitted. C-Span is pretty much the last bastion of hope. For now, anyway.

10. Yep, after this week's convention "reporting" I'm saying g-bye too...
I just wrote a letter to them last night! After getting tired of them either not showing certain speakers (ie. Rev. Alston etc.) and interrupting speeches (Wolf Blitzer inserting his comment on Monday when Bill Clinton started speaking "this is why they put him on Monday Night (vs Thursday w/ John Kerry)") or fat stupid conservative media whores like Candy Crowley and Woodruff make stupid comments or idiots like Larry King who has very little to add except for interacting with obnoxious Mo "I wish I was like Jon Stewart" Rocca has been not only irritating but pissing me off....

I highly doubt that they will be doing as much anti-GOP spin at the GOP convention....this hasn't been "reporting" its been crashing the party and trying to spin the message off base...The news reported that the "ratings" of viewers for this convention was off....Gee, maybe its because we are all switching to PBS and CSPAN or maybe not watching at all because of their talking heads that are making it undesirable to watch.

25. Thank you for this post! I'm so glad Mo Rocca is not around
tonight. I wonder if he has the rest of week off? I hope so. His commentary seemed incredibly out of place and is much better suited to the Daily Show type of forum.

12. I've been a TV subscriber to satellite delivered
CNN, CNNFN, MSNBC, CNBC, and FOX. It's one of my more expensive yearly C-band subscriptions. They come as a package. I find myself disappointed more and more with the coverage offered by any and all of them, (rarely watch FOX anyway, their slant is so obvious) and the amount of time devoted to commercials seems quite high.

With a high commercial to news broadcast ratio, shouldn't my cost be lower?

Anyway, I'm wondering about not re-subscribing next year, because the coverage seems so corpor-centric.

15. It's cable news.
CNN, FAUX, MSGOP. What kind of news do you expect from the same people that have 24 hour shopping channels?

16. Cable subscribers often can't choose a-la-carte!
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 03:07 PM by SimpleTrend
They should be able to vote with their dollars. That they can't without disconnecting completely smacks of corpor-gov-control.

21. Mo "I wish I was funny like Jon Stewart" Rocca is an insult
Jon Stewart is funny...he reports on things and inserts humor in a way that can make us laugh at the process and at bullshit...

Mo Rocca is a jerk and is insulting the democratic process....

How dare CNN try to take an important event in our democracy and take a stupid and not very funny jerk like Mo Rocca and try to make it seem like the Daily Show when instead they are only succeeding at making a mockery of the process and insulting our intelligence...

:grr:

18. I'm switching off my expanded cable service and I'll switch to reading
the newspaper more and to watching PBS and CSPAN on basic cable or maybe just hoping it comes in on local stations the old fashioned way...

I'm so tired of the corporate media that controls this country's news and tries to divide our nation for the Bush Co. people...

So you know this whole hour will be a complete shill for the GOP. CNN does a disservice to this country by continuing to pay that man who would jeopardize a CIA agent.
