Bill Bennett on CNN: The economy is not an issue in this election
"I don't think there's much the Democrats can say about the economy. It's clearly coming back. The issues, in order: 1, 2, 3: the war on terror."

1. geez, did he get his talking points this morning?
The Bushies are supposed to be praising their strong economy, what Larry "Cokenostrils" Kudlow calls the "Bush Boom."

Pause for laughter.

8. Even if it's not an issue make it an issue
Carville knew exactly how to do this.

If you say something enough it becomes true.

23. That's the GOP strategy.
How about we stick to the facts?

And, yes, the economy is a very big issue, as it was in 1992. Carville didn't make up anything. He didn't have to.

11. Let them keep believing that
The squeeze on the middle class is so strong and it's not getting any better. I hope they keep overestimating their great economy maybe then they won't see the big train coming to roll them over in November.

17. Millionaire gambler says economy good???????
This is how so far out of touch the beltway boys and girls are. They collect their bundles of money from the corporations, play the tables, vacation at the finest resorts, eat at the finest restaurants and then ignore those that are carrying their luggage, waiting thier tables, cutting their hair, cleaning their homes, etc., etc. They are above the have-nots and it only gives them a sense of entilement when they can get this labor as cheap as possible.

These beltway boys and girls include those that we have elected and sent there to represent us. They seem to have no problem with health care.....the doors to Walter Reed, John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic with all the latest medical advancements swing wide open whenever they have the need. Their medical care is provided by you and I and they seem to have no problem getting the best that our money can pay for.
They should all be voted out and elect fresh new faces eager to do their job. They can't claim that we need their experience because their experience only consists of how to fill their personal coffers as fast and as long as they can before their constituents wake up.

14. Yes, my federal taxes went down with Bush in office --
but that is mainly because our family income has dropped $7,000 - $10,000 - no side work any more. Clinton gave my husband so much telecom work what with wiring schools for the internet and all. But nothing under the shrubbery. Companies not expanding -- no new phone/computer lines needed - no O/T, no side work. Love that Shrub!

22. Umm. Bill. Gas prices are going back up again. Durable orders are down.
Health Care costs continue to go up as a percentage of the cost per employee for employers.

You know what that means, don't you, Bill? Unemployment figures are not likely to look very good the next couple of months. OK. The next several months. Ugh.

Oh, yeah. And the Federal Deficit continues to skyrocket. Shall we talk about the consequences of that to the economy?

Alas, Bush's got no valid economic policy, and we're all paying for it.

Bill, it's still the economy, stupid!

24. Another record deficit - $420 billion this year
Naturally, the news is being kept mum until Friday but not because it's bad news or because the Democrats would hammer the administration on it, so stop saying that!
