Who ya' gonna believe?

Bin Laden? Then you believe the "Islamic extremists" and they win.
Moore? Then Bush really is a dumbass.

2. Umm. Or the 9/11 commission, which agrees with Moore.
The guy can deny reality all he wants. The records show something altogether different.

3. AP is repeating a specific lie in that article, again.
A recent 9/11 panel report states that the chartered flights took place starting Sept. 14, once airspace had reopened.

...
In the two days immediately following the September 11 terrorist attacks on America, the U.S. government allowed bin Laden family members to fly within the country during a general ban on air travel: True.
...
According to the Saudi embassy, about 300 Saudis living in the United States took up their government's offer to fly home if they feared reprisals in the wake of the hijackings. But that repatriation program has been shelved, according to a Saudi diplomat, because at least some of those who volunteered to fly home did so for reasons that had nothing to do with fear. The diplomat said Saudi officials learned that some who flew home were students who were in danger of flunking out. "Too many people were abusing it, so we suspended the program," said the diplomat.
...
Two armed bodyguards hired to chaperon recall a 100-minute trip Sept. 13 quite vividly. In the end, the son of a Saudi Arabian prince who is the nation's defense minister, and the son of a Saudi army commander made it to Kentucky for a waiting 747.

The hastily arranged flight out of Raytheon Airport Services, a private hangar on the outskirts of Tampa International Airport, was anything but ordinary. It lifted off the tarmac at a time when every private plane in the nation was grounded due to safety concerns after the Sept. 11 attacks.

The Tampa detectives guarding the men were ordered to stay in Tampa by Police Chief Bennie Holder, so was offered the job of escorting the trio to Lexington, Ky., where the prince's relatives were buying race horses.

But the Lear was not headed back to Fort Lauderdale, Grossi said the pilot told him. It was bound for New Orleans to pick up someone who needed a ride to New York.7

4. True blue to Osama
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/story/210699p-181561c.html

NEW YORK - Osama Bin Laden is still a touchy topic with his relatives - but they wouldn't necessarily hand him over to the United States.

Asked hypothetically by NBC's Matt Lauer whether he'd turn in Osama, Yeslam Binladin snapped: "What do you think? Would you turn in your brother? Or half brother? Tell me. I put the question back to you. You answer it."

6. Why is so much truth about 9/11 drowning in technicalities?
I think he is arguing a technicality. Before all the Saudi's were flown out of the US they were gathered together inside the US.

The flights to get them in one place took place while air travel was shut down.

Their flight out of the US was on the 14th.

From the subject article:

<snip>

One of his main points is that the U.S. administration helped 142 Saudis — including two dozen members of bin Laden's family — fly out of the United States two days after the Sept. 11 attacks, even though commercial air space was closed.

"That's false and can be verified by anyone," said the Saudi-born Binladin, who intentionally spells his name differently from Osama, the prime suspect in the Sept. 11 attacks. "They benefited from no exceptional authorization to leave American territory."

7. I love how they try to distract from the fact that...
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 06:46 PM by thebigidea
... they were flying around when no one else could.

Distract away with this bullshit about not leaving the country before the restriction was lifted, Mr. Bin Laden...

but you haven't answered the question: why were you and your cronies flying around the country when no one else could?

And even when the distractions WERE lifted, why the hell were relatives of OBL allowed to leave without thorough interrogation/investigation anyway?

The only answer the RWers have is "Richard Clarke" - yet another distraction.
