8. He sounded
Like an old fashioned preacher, how his voice would tremble as he would shout.

5. He had no rhythm or flow to his speech.
The speech itself was fine. It just didn't flow.

26. I thought at one time he was a 'rising star' in the Dem party.
I heard him before and he great. I guess maybe he was nervous. Needs more time in the spotlight.

Like an over-zealous little league coach. But I'm not trying to be pissy.

9. awww.. be nice..
Not everyone is born into public speaking talent. Do you have a video available of yourself, speaking before 5,000+ strangers, and national television cameras? I didn't think so...

okay.. but it's really funny to turn your sound off sometimes and just watch the speakers and their hand movements. That's kinda funny.

13. Hey, I just call 'em like I see 'em.

He was not terrible, no. Just weak and a little creepy.

But it certainly draws a sharper focus around the truly great orators we have in the party, many of whom have delivered the goods big time the last couple days.

just kidding. I really wasn't trying to be unduly harsh on the guy. I don't think it was the greatest speech, that's all.

17. Martin O'Malley is
a successful young mayor, a talented politician, a charming man and he is indeed a rising star on the Maryland political scene. I remember a young man named Bill Clinton who kinda did not make a good impression his first outing as a speaker at the Convention.

22. Hey, I'm not slamming the door on the guy, I just think
the speech had kind of a weird vibe... like the sort of thing I get from the mormons who have the bad judgement to knock on my door at 8:30 AM on sunday morning. Just a lil' strange. Apparently I'm not the only one who felt that way... But, nevertheless, I'm sure the guy is talented and capable.

27. I understand, I saw the speech
and had been looking forward to it. I know he can do better, I have seen it, it was a bit over the top, but you see, I am very fond of him, and he gives me hope for the future. So perhaps I am a little sensitive to the subject.

he will be governor or senator one day. i hope those who saw him for the first time today don't judge him based on this appearance alone.

25. I'm not crazy about him but he's our best shot to win back the state house
Baltimore has gotten even more out of control with crimes and drugs since he began his "BELIEVE" campaign. But he's been tapped for bigger things and since Townsend flamed out, Maryland Dems need to re-group.

28. Martin O'Malley is a major anti-2nd amendment pundit
He needs to back off of his gun banning attitude.
