Poll question: Best position for Howard Dean in Kerry's cabinet/Democratic Party?
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 06:35 PM by BullGooseLoony
I've heard quite a few suggestions, but I like DNC Chair best. The guy is a lot more than just a doctor. He needs to be in a high-profile place to keep the party energized.

4. Gonna have to go with DNC chairman
He fundraises well and has fight in him, two qualities you'll like in your DNC chairman. I think Sec of State will be Richard Hollbroke.

6. Much as I'd like to see Dean in a Kerry administration
It ain't gonna happen.

Egos aside, Kerry's people consider Dean a loose cannon- he's too likely to actually do the analysis and speak the truth about what needs to be done. Plus, he'd have to be in Washington, D.C. an awful lot of the time, and I doubt that Judy would like that idea very much.

7. He's on the road all the time right now.
And I think that, as far as his presence goes, his is a powerful one that the Democratic Party desperately needs, and will need for years to come.

9. I think a cabinet position wouldnt enable to give him his full potential
As I said a DNC chairmanship helps do what hes good at.

8. DNC Chair for sure!
It's about time we co-opted Ralph Reed's strategy and
infiltrated church leaderships and school boards.

12. I voted FCC chair but
I don't want him to take any position that will end Democracy for America. Not sure what one has to give up to be any of the choices.

13. Surgeon General seems like an insult to me.

Putting the guy in an office to hand out pamphlets about the evils of smoking doesn't seem to be making very good use of Howard's talents or position within the party.
