The Republican's Have Finally Convinced Me........
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 06:53 PM by louis c
For eight years all I heard from my Repuke and freeper friends was that I was an asshole for supporting a candidate for President who was a draft dodger who did drugs, Clinton, against certified war heroes, Bush (the father) and Bob Dole.

Now, in 2004, I'm saying to these same people that they have convinced me. We have the same, exact example this year that we had in 1992, and 1996.

How come they don't agree with themselves now.

Funny how the story changes when the shoe is on the other foot.

1. That's because they're all liars and hypocrites
I've weeded out most of my Republican friends over the last four years.

5. May we add duplicitous, mendacious, sanctimonious, disingenious,
oxymoronic, double-speaking, and reichous among other descriptive adjectives ?

7. No, you may not add "duplicitous, mendacious, sanctimonious,
disingenious {sic}, etc. You have to stick to words that a) they can understand and b) you can spell.

2. But You Don't GET IT....
Ah, but you don't GET it...
See, we aren't supposed to CARE about what happened twenty or thirty years ago, when it's dirty shit on THEIR side. We aren't supposed to know. what matters is NOW...not then!!
Only when it's OUR guys is dredging up 30-year-old history a valid thing!

3. exactly! AND we're not supposed to expect any investigations of
their youthful indiscretions either. Ours, on the other hand, are fair game - even the ones that never happened!

4. Exactly!
Now it's not "draft dodger" it's "he threw his medals away" or "he spoke out against the war." I asked, "Don't you think that a decorated war hero EARNED the right to speak out about the war?"

If I had a dollar for every dumbfounded look...

HE EARNED THE RIGHT TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST IT!! HE SERVED IN IT!! hE PUT HIMSELF IN HARM'S WAY SO THAT YOU WOULD HAVE A RIGHT TO YOUR PIGHEADED OPINION, TOO!!
MORE THAN WE CAN SAY FOR YOUR BOY, BUSH!!

8. Someone said to me tonight
'Democrats are willing to admit that they're wrong. Republicans never admit a mistake.'

Hmmmmm, I think that's the start of a thread.
