I wonder how this works... Bonesman v. Bonesman.
This has never happened.
I'm no conspiracy theory buff, but it does make for interesting conversation!

You know... that's fine.
I'll sign off for the night.
Maybe you guys could spend a little time thinking about beating Bush rather than sniping at your own.
Later guys. Enjoy the red meat.

Isnt the definition of snipe to conciously and explicitly target someone?

15. Some people yawn because we can't know. Some people don't yawn |
|
because they are horrified by Kerry's membership along with Bush and the god awful stories we've heard and what can be imagined about what has to be kept secret.
Why should grown up men have to keep a life long secret?
This is nothing to yawn at or laugh at or forget about considering who their members are and their roles in our destinies.

25. And we vote for Kerry and support him because he is a decent man |
|
and will be a better leader by quantum leaps than Bush
and Bush is not a decent man.
Bush, we know, is a criminal with no qualms about lying, treason and profiteering off his corporate war machine with his partners Poppy and Dick.
We are not voting or not voting for him now because he went to the same college with Bush and was in S&B.
This is an issue for AFTER November 2004 and what happens next.

18. I think it doesn't have any bearing to tell you the truth. |
|
I understand the perceived "weight" of skull & bones, but I think it's more something that people like to play up as opposed to having real world repurcussions.
Put it this way, skull & bones is a well known "secret" organization, and therein lies the problem. Well known enough to have it's mythology echoed upon itself creating a bubble of hysteria, but also well known enough for it not to be truly effective as a secret society.
Anything really odius or nefarious that we should be worried about, is probably something we don't know anything about.

20. As one of the resident experts on S&B, here is my take |
|
It is no secret that Kerry is a consummate insider.
Skull and Bones are the consummate insiders. There is little doubt about that among political historians.
as a staunch critic of Kerry in the primaries I tried many times to make hay out of this. It is a debate that, after the election, I will be interested in continuing BUT it falls under the category now of a Naderian-style assault (I.e. Gore is just as bad as Bush and the dems are just as bad as the repugs because they are all elitist corporatists)
The fact is that we KNOW Bush is a fascist and that his family are fascists intergenerationally. We KNOW that the Bushes backed Hitler in THAT war just as they back the Saudis in THIS war (and that it is treasonous)
We also KNOW that Kerry has NO relation to the backing of Hitler, to the coverup of those crimes, or to the Saudis.
The fact that Kerry was in Skull and Bones means that there is - at least on ONE level - a level playing field.
The Yale elites from that background have - I believe, seen that Bush is a liability, a slacker and a danger - and that he has damagedtheir interests globally to further his own family's dominance globally.
So Kerry's status as an insider gives him one level of advantage over every other candidate . He KNOWS what Bush is. He KNOWS that Bush is a corrupt and evil intellectual dwarf. He also knows that he has the ear of the insiders who backed Bush and who see that he is leading most of them (and America) into a ruinous decline.
FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, THOUGH...
Raising the issue now is only going to benefit - really benefit - Bush, because the ignoramuses who fall for the argument that Kerry is no better than Bush (and I hear a LOT of that from ignorant republicans who voted for Bush but who think Kerry is really no better) will glom onto it and shout it from the rooftops.
I think it is okay to innoculate against it by saying -- Yep, he sure is in S&B and thank GOD!!! because he KNOWS Bush and KNOWS the terrain in a way that can make him BEAT Bush and PROTECT America in a way no other candidate could.
after the election we can talk because we WILL need to become the underground again. Right now we are the mainstream dems.

23. There have been disagreements within S&B |
|
Yale '85 (but not secret society) here. In my day, S&B only "tapped" (offered membership to) male students. As a matter of fact, Jake Weisberg '86, the editor of Slate, refused an S&B tap (almost unheard of) over this.
Right around the time I left, there began to be agitation within S&B to "tap" women. Guess which prominent Bonesman, class of '66, supported the idea? And guess which prominent yet dorky Bonesman, class of '68, vehemently opposed it, along with his entire family of prominent yet dorky Bonesmen?
Moral: All Bonesmen are NOT created equal. Just because Whistle-Ass was in S&B (he had to be cajoled to join, by the way; he would have vastly preferred a more traditional frat where booze was served) doesn't make it the fountain of all evil, any more than it does, say, Andover.

24. I would say that S&B, Andover and Yale are all fountains |
|
fouled by evil.
BUT - just because the waters were fouled by the likes of a Bush or an Ashcroft or a Mueller does NOT mean that there are not good and decent people who went there.
I DO happen to believe they are foul at the their waspy and corrupt roots - but not all the fruit is completely rotten (I sure as hell hope)
Trudeau (Doonesbury) is an example of a Yalie elitist who uses this knowledge for good to fight the evil power. But he would not have that power unless he had had that privilege I would venture (in an unprovable but debatable bit of bluster)
