Richardson was supposed to be done by 9 p.m. If Edwards starts too late, people will be in bed.

7. Wonderful!
Our VP and maybe the most inspiring speaker in the Party (next to Clinton and maybe Obama now) is going to get McGoverned because freaking Sharpton couldn't tone down his freaking one-man circus.

I've been saying the man would hurt us since he entered the primary because he doesn't care about the Party; he only cares about himself.

17. I do not like Sharpton
At all.

I am sorry if that offends you, but I do not like the man. I think he is a self-promoting con man who has helped no one but himself in his career and - oh by the way - has played a large part in inciting a few murders and riots. And also libeled a police officer.

To me, it would be like having Momo Giancana speaking at the 1960 Convention.

You can largely thank him for inflicting Governor Pataki on an unsuspecting world. And for endorsing D'Amato for cash.

29. I think riots and selling out the party for cash is enough
Not to mention that his whole lifestyle is one large tax dodge (The man owns no suits).

I mean, what else is there?

And here is the part where I once again state my credentials because I dare speak out against a Democrat. I've been involved Party politics since I was five when I watched my mom win a State Supreme Court case to get on a ballot. I did my first door to door capaigning at 7. Senator Rockefeller could pick me out of a crowd. Senator Byrd knows my family. I worked for Clintons' campaign. I belonged to the College Democrats. I give money. I plan on voting for Kerry three or four times. I may run for office one. And I don't like Al Sharpton.

30. Oh, yeah!
And... and... and... he's hates white people! And he is a race baiter! And I hear he likes to take advantage of white women! And he killed Vincent Foster! And he blames white people, unlike that good Bill Cosby, who tells it like it is and is a real black leader! So stop saying that!

35. Which part of Cosby did Obama quote.
The part where Cosby says black people are stupid for giving themselves unique names, or the part where Cosby says it's OK for cops to shoot black kids for stealing pastry.

Now, I didn't see the Obama speech, but I was told he got in a good dig at Cosby. That Osama bin Obama sure is one uppity rabble-rouser if it's true.

37. And I quote a future president (I'm convinced of that today)
Go into any inner-city neighborhood, and folks will tell you that government alone can't teach kids to learn.

They know that parents have to teach, that children can't achieve unless we raise their expectations and turn off the television sets and eradicate the slander that says a black youth with a book is acting white. They know those things.

Al libeled a police officer. I can't think of any reason a black man from New York would speak poorly of the police. The inciting a riot charge is a load of crap. Same with your murder bullshit.

16. You gotta be kidding
A few minutes isn't going to make the slightest bit of difference to Edwards. Sharpton speech was tremendously inspiring, if you really have a problem with him going over time perhaps you should complain to all those people who wouldn't stop cheering long enough to let him finish.

I cannot believe that a man could deliver such a fantastic speech, energizing Democrats as he has always done, and someone would bitch that it took a few extra minutes. It's nuts.

44. Sharpton's overtime gem has pushed Shalikashvili's speech into network
time slots--interesting. The General's very presence at the convention is a sharp rebuke to Dubya's Iraq deception, lack of planning, and sheer incompetence.

On PBS, Sharpton told Gwen Ifil the convention leadership KNEW he was going to run over.

I like the way Sharpton said, "In conclusion", about halfway through his speech!
