3. the story of the Wochester fire
and how Kerry was there for those guys. I believe you told me about it when explaining why the firefighters are behind him.

7. Yes. Kerry was standing for and with firefighters LONG before 9-11.

It bugs me when pundits say the firefighters union only went with Kerry because they thought he was electable. The bond between Kerry and the firefighters was based on an enormous depth of respect and support that was mutual. They understand what it means to risk your life for other people.

Kerry was always their choice. For very real, very human reasons.

8. well if they thought that was the reason
they would have abandonded him when he was struggling heh, but Harold Schraitberger is just about the greatest union leader in the cuontry right now.

5. I remember the Worcester warehouse fire.
Comedian Denis Leary lost a cousin in that fire: Jeremiah Lucey.



Since that time, Leary has hosted an annual celebrity hockey game as a firefighters' fundraiser. I think Kerry has laced up some skates for it in the past.
