51. I made the decision last week..........

that I would NOT watch any of the cable news infomercials for the GOP. I could see the writing on the wall as cable news would drag out their good little GOPers to contradict anything a Dem said. I was afraid I'd bust my TV. Can't afford that. Don't have any kind of nerve medicine or mood elevators, soooooooo all I could do was not watch ONE second of their coverage. I have stuck to that and I'm more calm and contented than I can even tell you!

It's been C-span all the way baby unless I have AAR on. I turn it off though when AAR feels compelled to have GOPers on like Franken does too often. What is it with him anyway? Why does he think he HAS to have their side on everyday. I already know their side of it and I don't like their side sooooooo he gets turned off frequently in my house too. Not only that, he's a big name dropper. Don't like that from anyone.

50. lets see I've watched most of the speeches on C-SPAN

but I've also tuned into PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, MSNBC, and CNN if I have seen them conducting an interview with someone I wanted to listen to or to get the gist of their coverage. I don't consider myself stupid for doing so either.

13. I have been watching snippets of the convention on other channels

just to see how different networks handle the spin. It can definitely be enlightening at times (with jaw-dropping incredulity). But I agree with you, if you want it straight, C-SPAN is great. And no cutting out parts that might be "messy", either!

I am watching it on HDN's DNC 24 hour channel.

I had to call my Doctor for nerve pills after listening to the pundits so I turned it to another channel and found out that HDN has one channel with 24 hour coverage.

I am sure they have reruns but they don't have a ticker tape that drives you nuts :grr:.

The wife was harping me when i would change to network, or news channel coverage. This from a woman who is not very involved in politics, but even to her the bias and nitpicking of the other networks was evident to her.

I also found it much more entertaining(yes we found it entertaining)with the uninterrupted coverage. It seems the others were cutting some of the best parts, so the talking heads could just blather, and stroke their ego's.

Another thing i noticed was how on C-Span you could almost feel the energy, and good feelings from the crowd and guests, it just seemed infectious. But that image seemed very stifled by network coverage.

Overall i think the republicans will have a hard time competing with this feel good positive vibe. Folks are just plain tired of all the gloom and doom, people need to feel good again.

but sometimes people spewing their opinions is actually better than watching a corwd of people just mingling without anyone speaking. It's like watching C-SPAN when a quorum call is being voted on. It is boring. I like to switch around. If I know there is a speaker coming on that interests me, I will go to C-SPAN because they will have all of the speech, but between the speeches, I flip around and see what people are saying.
