Adopted Soldiers Update...***BEST NEWS---EVER***

Mary just called me and invited us to a "Welcome Home" party for Jimmy..

Somehow (don't know the deatils yet) he and 11 of his group, have managed to get assigned stateside.. (Las Vegas :):):)) for the remaining months of their enlistment..

They spent 15 months in the Sunni Triangle...only to have their leaves cancelled and were told they would be going to Afghanistan...that was cancelled and they were supposed to be sent BACK to Iraq in June...

and now he's HOME..safe and soon to be O_U_T of the army..:)


Mary had few details..

He called her yesterday and asked her what she was doing on Aug 5th??

She said .."Why?"

He said:.. "I need you to pick me up at the airport"..I am home for good.:)

My Marine nephew goes to Iraq in August, but so far he will be stationed in Kuwait, so keeping my fingers crossed that that's where he'll stay until sent back home. Again, congratulations on your good news.

My Marine son leaves for Japan next month. Our fingers are crossed that he stays there -- even if it is a two-year assignment!

I bought webcams, one for him and one for us.

I'm so happy they're coming home. It was a great priviledge to send them packages - it made me feel so good to be able to actually DO something to help the troops. Yee Haw!
