All they do is spew out right-wing trash. I'm doing what the rest of you have done and I'm sending CNN a piece of my mind. :grr: :grr:
Never again will I watch CNN.
What makes it worse is that they're interviewing Ralph Reed! :wtf:?

.. how DARE they rip this convetion apart. I can only assume they will NOT have those same people commenting on the GOP convention. I think they need to hire Howard Dean, Michael Moore, etc., to do their commentary.

AND AFTER THE CONVENTION ELIMINATE THEM FROM OUR CHANNEL CHOICES FOREVER AND LET THEM KNOW.
My e-mail:
Wolf, pardon me, but please consider the famous Cheney expletive applied to you. And for an added measure, I am sending a Teresa's SHOVE IT!
Are you planning to do the same thing for the republican convention? I would sincerely doubt it. AFTER THE MOST INSPIRING AND WONDERFUL SPEECH OF THE EVENING THE FIRST PERSON YOU BRING ON IS THE HYPOCRITE RALPH REED TO PUT EDWARDS AND THE DEMOCRATS DOWN!!! AND DOWNGRADE THE MESSAGE BEING TRANSMITTED.
YOU AND THE ENTIRE MEDIA ARE BEYOND BELIEF. But this is the fault of the Americans who fell sleep and allowed corporations to eat up the means of communication. Now all we get is your vomit.

11. I'm working on a campaign... |
|
With the help of some other grassroots web sites (can't divulge them at the moment), I am trying to organize a large scale campaign aimed at media outlets, advertisers, and the public.
I can't really go into many details, but this will include detailed petitions of complaint, a call to adopt a recommended corporate media repsonsilbity guidelines , a comprehensive list of media owners with their various political (and other) affilations and donations, and letters of intent to actively boycott advertiser products.
More to come...

And if we put words into actions it will prove our claims have more validity.
Remember all the complaining the Repukes did about "the Liberal media?" They never really did anything but whine and when LIBERALS called on the Fairness Doctrine to be considered they balked.
In the end, they only screamed "Liberal media" so they could dis-credit ANY potentially negative news about them or their policies. I would suggest it hit its crescendo when the media was reporting ACCURATELY in the 1980s the mass increase in homelessness which they STILL DISPUTE.
Now, if we put together a real movement to be fairness to the media then we take the issue back.
IF YOU ABOVE need any help from us, let us know.

tomorrow night after Kerry's speech? Boosh himself? Will they even show all of Kerry's speech? Looks as if they are far more interested in airing repiggy talking points than they are the convention. No wonder they aren't getting many viewers! People who tune in to see and hear the convention are instead bombarded with republicans!

I really liked CNN back when they reported the news. In the years since CNN was taken over, I have tolerated them (like I have tolerated not listening to the radio), but that came to an end when Kerry announced Edwards, and all day CNN did nothing but frame their statements about Edwards in negatives. I wrote CNN a letter and haven't tuned in to them since. I don't now if these dolts on cable news will ever snap to the fact that this is their country too, but in the meantime, I am not going to support them.

I screamed - SCREAMED - when I saw the utter asshole they were dragging out to critique the most important speech of Edwards' career. UNBELIEVEABLE.
And then I immediately switched back to C-SPAN. I'm DONE with CNN forever.

at least done the courteous thing and ask Ralph how his money-laundering case is going. And what the hell was up with Ralph's hair? It looked like he drove to the studio with his head out the window. It was amazing.
I am watching CNN now and resisting the impulse to stick my foot through the TV and kick Tucker right off his chair. What a shrill little asshole.

|
I wonder if that has been done to any degree to demonstrate displeasure with the institutiohnalized bias ? Maybe a parody like Billionaires for Bush could be developed to make a point. Just like there is the "women in black" every Wednesday in designated locations to protest the war, we could start and media bias vigel - "People in Brown shirts" to protest the nazi-like propaganda machines the cable and network news organizations has become.

42. Look, I've said this before and I'll say it again-- |
|
sure, it's all fine and well if we turn our TV's to C-Span or PBS but remember-we're fighting for the hearts, souls, and minds of the undecided out there and they're more than likely going to watch this convention as it's filtered through the media outlets like CNN & MSNBC & yes, unfortunately, Faux. Turning off and tuning them out may make you happier but it doesn't stop the blatant bias going on in the media today. The only way we're going to be able to stop that is to fight them with everything we've got. And how can you possibly know what they're up to if you're not watching? I've called or e-mailed CNN & MSNBC every single day of this convention and I encourage each of you to do the same. I have seen a difference this week-yeah, they're still drinking the kool-aid but at least they haven't been quite as blatant as they usually are. The Undecided don't get just how biased the media is like we do. And it's our job to make the press accountable and to make them do their jobs fairly and accurately so that we can reach those undecideds. It's the only way we're going to win. We can't depend on the average person to see through the bias and the bullshit. So it's up to us to watch--no matter how sick it makes us--so we can complain LOUDLY and demand that they do a better job and stop the smears.

How can I possibly know what they're up to if I'm not watching?
Well, besides the DUers who report in, there are many columnists and media watchdogs on the internet who give me an idea of at least the most egregious lies and cases of bias. I'm aware of what most of the windbags, I mean "pundits," are saying about Kerry and Democrats, and I NEVER watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, or Fox.
I think your emails tell them not only what you think but that you are one of their viewers. Controversial remarks gain them attention, and I think it works for them.
I'm looking for HARD news, so I'm not going to watch the mainstream programs, and I'm hoping that in the not-so-distant future those outlets will notice that viewers are turning to the internet and C-Span to get something that isn't offered on their programs.
The fewer people watching, the sooner they have to retool their product.
