What a schmuck. And will someone do their homework on the RNC talking points. The repugs voted against an 87 billion dollar bill.

Who are these people. Answer the question and shoot that myth down. There were two votes on that 87 billion dollar bill.
We're letting that goddman talking point snowball.

3. Brokaw asked the question point blank |
|
The Democratic senator (Ford) dodged the question like he had something to hide. We have to get organized and bury that talking point. The Repugs shot down the first bill on how to pay for the 87 billion, which Kerry voted for. Then he voted against the new bill that didn't pay for it. The entire Republican party flip-flopped, if we're calling that a flip flop.
Most of America is too lazy or unknowledgable to look this up for themselves. We have to shoot that myth down every time it's raised.

Brokaw served up a softball. In fairness, if Ford hasn't studied that particular vote, he answered it as best he could. But everyone needs to be prepared for any of these recurring Republican talking points that have been repeated over and over. These charges can't keep going out there uncontested.

He was asked about whether voting against the 87 billion would be a problem, and he said something like, "I don't think so. People will look at his overall record and what's he's done to fight for veterans hospitals and so on..."
It wasn't a bad answer, except that it gave credence to the fact that the question was a fair representation of how he voted on the issue. And it was right after Zell Miller went on a rant about how it showed he didn't care about the troops.
