To Ted's credit the interview was taped and still aired. Pretty impressive considering its content.

Anyone else think it ended a bit abruptly?

Nightline.. Stewart is interview in the second segment and Koppel was really quit humble in my opinion for airing the interview after Stewat made him, and the rest look really bad. It gets personal.

And the show was pretty interesting overall - prior to Jon's segment, the topic was media bias. Not the old "liberal" or "conservative" overall debate, but the fact that different outlets are clearly playing to people with specific political leanings - Fox and Republicans was a specific example.

This guy doesn't need to be partisan on our side--he has talent, and he is smart, and he is providing an essential service. The media are so used to naked emperors that they aren't able to point out the obvious anymore, the lack of clothing. Stewart can take the blatant silliness and black humor of political reporting and campaigning and reveal it, while the others have to live by its rules and pretend the rest of the world does so as well.

With nowhere near the rancor of his Bush material - you can tell there's been a shift in his thinking over the years, and those guys really get to him.

His commencement speeches were wonderful...

With all the relentless lying going on about Kerry from the RW bullshit machine, you'd think we'd go after the REAL spinners - not a freakin' national treasure gently ribbing Kerry once in a while.
