Will w storm out of the debates with Kerry like he did 2 weeks ago?
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 07:45 AM by mopaul
when a reporter asked a hard to answer and uncomfortable question regarding ken lay and enron, bush simply stopped and stormed off, angrily, from the podium. end of press conference, not even a 'thank you all for coming' like he usually cuts them off with.

i'd like to see that same neurotic psychosis kick in during a supposed debate with candidate Kerry. we know that Kerry will fight back, but how hard? we all know that Kerry can actually think and chew gum at the same time, a distinct advantage over the ape with dr. frankencheney's lab assistant's brain in his skull.

the thing that could do it is the subject of the military historys of both candidates. and Kerry's camp is definitely shoving this in w's face, big time. cracking the thin but so far effective lie that bush 'served honorably'.

i'd pay $50 cash to see w start sputtering and get all red in the face and stumble over his own lips and git all wiggy and rubbery like jello on a plate. and then make a real mean baboon face and stand up and rip off his lapel mike and stomp off, stage left, in a petulent frenzy of stupidification.

2. You can bet they are fighting that out right now
Karl Rove would want no debates, but failing that he would want the daul press conference format, where candidates do not engage each other at all, and questions are asked by sympathetic reporters who aren't going to challange any of Bush's assertions.

Hopefully who ever is working on this for Kerry is a good negotiator.

3. I'm hoping they won't be able to get his
psych meds regulated in time...

no telling what we could see. I'm looking forward to it for sure.

4. He'll probably only agree to debate if he can have Cheney there with him

and then he'll keep saying: "let me answer." "you ask the questions and I'll answer" and he'll wince a lot and then he'll say he didn't like Kerry's tone.

edit: spelling

5. The format and the choice of moderator/questioners will be critical

and dont think the Repugs dont know that and will be maneuvering to get friendlies into position.

And, of course, any extraneous objects in the ear must be avoided or thoroughly vetted.

6. Bush will crush Kerry in the debates
Bush will come across better to middle America with his folksy charm, easy manner and patriotic platitudes, while Kerry, with his long winded, fact based responses will be seen as boring, aloof & intellectual.

11. Well thinking people seems to get the Right Wing up tight.
I think Kerry is a thinker. A smirk and 'God bless American" seem to trump thinking any day. Sorry mess.

14. that was my thinking
In 2000, the media & the RW Spin Machine set the bar so low for Bush that when he didn't come across as crazier than Charles Manson and his head didn't spin around like Linda Blair in the Exorcist, he was declared the winner...

Look for the same in September & October of this year.

7. the "debates" will be heavily scripted
there won't be anything spontaneous to wad *'s panties. And, truth be told, as long as he doesn't throw a hissy fit and storm out, the punditry will declare him the decisive winner.

13. And the RNC will instruct the media to lower the expectations for Bush
to such a low level that if he avoids flinging his own feces at the camera it will be an oratorical triumph of epic proportions.

9. They aren't going to ask him any tough questions.
He will have the questions in advance and have his handlers write the answers on a note card for him. He's a pathetic piece of shit.

12. There will be no "Debates"
There will be a stage show, where both candidates know exactly what will be asked, and their answers will be pre-written. You can't be so daft as to think Bush's monkey handlers are going to allow him to go before a live audience and spout unscripted nonsense...how many times have they been burned? No, if they do any "debates" at all, it will all be a polite show. I wouldn't be surprised of they get the Kerry people to agree NOT to talk about certain issues pertaining to the president's military record. I wouldn't be surprised at all!

Vote for HOPE, NOT FEAR!

15. Kerry should negotiate HARD, and not give in
demand HIS formats be used in two of the three debates, or REFUSE to participate, then BLAME it on Bush, just as Bush did to Gore, when he tried to weasel out in 2000.

let's see how they handle THAT

Bush needs the debates more than Kerry, IMO

Kerry should hang very tough on this
