As a progressive, I am excited about one of Kerry's platform stances
OPEN OPPOSITION TO THE DEATH PENALTY

I'll readily admit that I am wary of many of his other platform stances, but this is one that I can say I wholeheartedly agree with, and for which I can actually whip up some excitement with which to vote for him. It is far past due for the US to join the community of civilized nations who have banned this barbaric practice of state-sponsored murder, rather than casting our lot with the likes of Iran, Sudan, China and North Korea.

I may not be overly excited about Kerry's stances on trade or foreign policy, but this is certainly one I CAN get excited about. And it's long past due for a Democratic nominee to be willing to take this stand.

1. I get excited about his policies on the environment.
An environmental president is exactly what we need in this age of global warming. We are at the beginning of a new age, and Kerry is what we need.

2. I get excited about most about his vision of
bringing back respect for America. If most of the world hates us, we don't stand a chance of changing anything, and certainly Bush will never change any of that. Kerry will not bully foreign leaders; he and Edwards both have more negotiating skills in their little fingers that Bush will ever have. I believe positive negotiations with other countries is the key to ending terrorism, and Bush/Cheney just don't have what it takes.
