Phil Donahue???
has anyone heard anything from him???? We could really use him now. Of course, MSNBC had to get rid of him because to the RNC he was an "Unpatriotic America Hater." Phil Donahue is the BEST!!! Also, why have we not seen Bill Press lately???

1. I guess his ratings were too high.
He was the highest rated show on MSRNC at the time remember.

4. & Let's Not Forget Tweety's Role in Publically Executing Him
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 10:28 AM by UTUSN
Tweety, who in fable worked for CARTER and O'NEILL (but who is a de facto Repuke operative), had just "written" one of his so-called books, slim, large-type, with wide margins and wide spaces between the lines. This one was on "American culture", something cribbed from every pop culture crap piece, something like American Civ 101, ("The Great Gatsby"). Was Tweety really ever moved, personally, by The Great Gatsby?------I think not.

So Phil provided a courtesy hosting to his colleague at MSRNC. I picked up the vibes immediately. Phil was being his usual affable self. Tweety was ice cold, holding still in his seat, eyeing Phil as Phil moved around, only Tweety's eyes moving. He was quite literally behaving like a snake preparing to strike.

Tweety was in his pre-war run-up of newly discovered Americanism (for him). Suddenly, Tweety was no longer the "Registered Dem" of old. He started referring to Phil as "you Liberals". "That's what wrong with you Libs: You really are anti-American. You do nothing but find fault with America." (Paraphrasing in quotes from memory.)

Phil acted like it was the usual FRIENDLY "debate". Tweety was out for blood. They went through the motions of talking about the book, while Tweety was using the book as a launching pad for his attacks on Phil. By the time Phil started defending himself, it was too late. He did one of his idiosyncratic arm movements, and Tweety snapped viciously, "What's this? (moving arms around). What's with the monkey mannerisms--the arms, the hunched shoulders?"

I can't even convey the viciousness. Literally within a week or two Phil was off the air. I don't say Tweety by himself is a power at MSRNC, but he certainly performed the public execution of Phil on Phil's own show.

Tweety is who recruited SCARBOROUGH. And when OLBERMAN returned to MSRNC, Tweety tried to be the first guest and to exert "mentorship". As we all know, OLBERMAN is no flunky, so he has gone his own way.

6. I Can't Do Justice to Describing Tweety's Vileness
But "nasty" validates what I saw, too.

2. Personally, I like Phil...
... and watched his show even from its early days in the Cincy area. But I wonder if he's still wandering around in the wilderness with his nose up Ralph's butt. I also wonder if Marlo has resisted the temptation for an "I told you so!"
