What do you want Teresa to focus on as First Goddess? |
|
Humanitarian aid in Iraq and Afghanistan?

1. That, and women's rights in Iraq, Afghanistan, SAUDI ARABIA ... |
|
... and Africa, Teresa's home continent. Humanitarian concerns would be a perfect fit for her.
Also ... Teresa's already a big environmentalist, and there will be lots of cleaning up to do after Bush leaves.

I was very impressed by her speech, so much intelligence & genuine warmth.
um... I keep thinking how much I'd like to dance Argentine Tango with her. Please forgive me. I was born straight... hehehe

it sounds as though she may be interested in the Peace Corps.
Just a thought. I think it's a great idea. I'd like to see former Peace Corps members receive "veteran's" benefits, myself.

5. Fumigating the White House |
|
After the stench of the Bush family has gone, then she can work on human rights for women around the world, or really, whatever she wants to. It's not like we're paying her a salary.

6. Generally spearking, repairing relations with rest of the world. |
|
I'm sure she has a lot of interests, including cultural spending and the like, but I would really like to see her assist in getting us back into proper relationships with the rest of the world. The fact that she's multilingual and sophisticated and clearly resilient helps a great deal. We need her visiting AIDS clinics in Africa, talking to women in microcredit programs, chatting with students in Muslim countries, etc. I envision her as combining Betty Ford-style outspokenness with Hillary Clinton-style involvement.

8. She'll have our heads swimming |
|
She'll be championing so many things and be such a whirlwind that we won't know what hit us. But I expect the environment, children's education and empowering women will be the focus of her "first ladyship".
