Wait, I thought Bush said the new Iraqi "democracy" was doing great...
They handed the country back to the freedom-lovin' Iraqi people...and EARLY, to boot...and people are still getting killed, the new "non-evil" ruler shoots people in the head in the street, and now,

"A major political conference to chart Iraq's path to democracy has been postponed for two weeks after pressure from the United Nations, raising concerns that elections planned for early next year might also be delayed."

The decision to postpone the event, billed as a crucial step ahead of the January polls, came two days before it was due to begin. There had been intense discussions among the organizers, Iraq's president and U.N. representative Jamal Benomar.

"This is a global war. These are forces of evil who are acting against us," Allawi told reporters after he and Powell met for about an hour. "I call upon the leaders of the Islamic countries and the Arab countries to close ranks."

But an Islamist militant group calling itself the Islamic Tawhid Group threatened to attack any Muslim country that sent troops to Iraq. "We will strike with an iron fist all the traitors of Arab governments who cooperate with the Zionists," it said in an Internet statement.
