* I wonder if anyone at MTV helped out in the arrangement of this. Sometimes I feel as if I'm watching the MTV Video Music Awards Nomination Convention.
* Finding a way to sneak in 'Safer at home, more respected abroad' into every other sentence is grating on me. I knew Al Sharpton had deviated from his script because I never saw those words pass his lips. No wonder i couldn't take my eyes off of him.
* Elizabeth Edwards has a big butt. Some of you might consider this a criticism or slight against her. I don't. I like big butts and I cannot lie. I'm glad to see myself and the future Vice President have something in common other than good looks. ;)
* I think Barak Obama could run for anything he wants to and win it immediately. Hell, Kerry could have chosen him as his running mate and after hearing him give one speech, nobody would care how inexperienced he is. He blows Edwards away, for my money.
* Hillary Clinton needs a volume dial when she speaks. She constantly shouts as if she's trying to gain control of a rowdy room. It took me a while to realize why I sometimes find her annoying. That's the reason. Its because of this that I feel she will never run, nor become, anything other than a senator. However, if I can pull out a bit of prognostication, it wouldn't surprise me if Kerry wins in November, that if he gets any Supreme Court vacancies opening up - he will nominate Hillary for the position. Where, I believe, she is much better suited than the Senate.
* Jennifer Granholm isn't as cute as she thinks she is, but she's still pretty likable. I liked her speech in points and think she'd make an excellent Senate leader one day.
* Teresa is going to polarize people. Some will like her, some will not, but she won't be as polarizing as Hillary. For instance, I like her a lot, but my girlfriend finds her boring.
* Edwards speech wasn't a homerun for me, but a solid line-drive double. Maybe I'm too jaded from Barak Obama and Bill Clinton and Al Gore. I was expecting a little more from Edwards last night, but I suppose it was good for the people who've never heard of him before. He didn't prevent Kerry from giving a more memorable speech than him - which I suppose is a good thing.
* CSPAN is cool. MSNBC is surprisingly good (esp Chris Matthews). CNN is horrid and I don't know enough about Fox's coverage to say anything, and don't particularly care what they had to say.
* Joe Scarborough, when he's not being a GOP shill, is actually quite interesting to listen to. He makes valid points and actually comes across as likable - when he's praising Dems, that is.
* I think Kerry's speech tonight will either be an A+ or an F. You're either going to be sitting at the tv, riveted to every word or you're going to be falling asleep after the 5-minute mark. Kerry has to start this speech strong and never give up the audience's attention. Don't take forever to get going. Be strong right from the very first sentence.
* Oh, and no yellow or orange frilly ties please.
