Bush campaigner urges low-paid workers to take a Prozac
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A campaign worker for President Bush said on Thursday American workers unhappy with low-quality jobs should find new ones -- or pop a Prozac to make themselves feel better.

"Why don't they get new jobs if they're unhappy -- or go on Prozac?" said Susan Sheybani, an assistant to Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt.

<snip>

When told the Prozac comment had been overheard, Sheybani said: "Oh, I was just kidding.".....

Nearly 1.1 million jobs have been lost since Bush took office in January 200

1. She was only kidding when she knew somebody heard her
You can't say stuff like that unless it's in your heart to say it. What did she really mean to say, "Those poor people I hope they find a better job." I don't think so!

34. Bullpoop on her "joke"
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 01:59 PM by Warpy
This is GOP mean spiritedness in action, exactly along the lines of the ignorant "Let them eat cake" statement from Marie Antoinette.

Just as the starving peasants didn't have the ability to choose an alternative to bread, the idiotic Bush policies regaring a hands-off attitude to price gouging pharmaceutical companies mean that the average person can't afford a doctor to prescribe Prozac and the Prozac, itself.

This is just another illustration of why these assholes have to be marched back into obscurity. We don't want their kind of country. They have to GO.

4. Compassionate conservatism at its finest
I'm sure many would take Prozac if they could afford it. Unfortunately, many of these people have no health coverage at their low-paying jobs and can't afford to pay the premiums on their own. They don't qualify for state assistance because they make so much money... You gotta love these morons.

Or:

"Jew bastard . . ."
"Lazy n*gger . . ."
"Raghead . . ."
"Dirty spic . . ."

They all say the same thing, don't they? "I'm sorry your face got in the way when my fist flew toward it."

Your hateful attitude came through loud and clear, Ms Sheybani. We know what you Bush supporters are all about: Divison. Intolerance. Hatred.

Forward this article to every television news agency you can find an address for. It may not do a TON of good, but if they get a lot of response they may actually make some comment about it (though I'm not holding my breath on that.)

"Benighted fool!" shouted the man from The Fordian Science Monitor, "why don't you take soma?"
"Get away!" The Savage shook his fist.

The other retreated a few steps then turned round again. "Evil's an unreality if you take a couple of grammes."

"Kohakwa iyathtokyai!" The tone was menacingly derisive.

"Pain's a delusion."

"Oh, is it?" said the Savage and, picking up a thick hazel switch, strode forward.

The man from The Fordian Science Monitor made a dash for his helicopter."

D'oh! The plan makes no sense, you lying fucking CRIMINAL!

Yes, I know she was just being "Republi-funny" (har har, poor dumb poor folks and they're complaining!), but it's contradictory even within its own register. She should, of course, be fired immediately. Instead of losing her job, however, she will "take responsibility," which, as we all know, when applied to republicans, means nothing happens at all.
