Poll question: How well informed are you? |
|
To me it seems like those involved in groups like this are the elite when it comes to being informed. People here are checking voting records and are pretty much up on who voted which way on which bill - or at least that's the impression I get. When I speak with people who are not activists or part of the Democratic or liberal Internet community, most of them seem uninformed. How would you rate yourselves?

1. You not only need to know how someone voted, but why. |
|
This goes to the "I voted for the $87B, and then against it" statement. To someone who doesn't understand how Congress works, this sounds really stupid! No wonder the Pubs picked up on that little blip! They did the same thing to McCain in 2000. Said he voted against funding breast cancer research.
I wish I knew how to inform voters of the reasons why, without holding Civics Classes everywhere!

2. Question: how can we answer? |
|
How can someone know how well informed they are?
I mean, the only true thing I have ever heard Rumsfeld say was when he said that there are known unknowns, and there are unknown unknowns. Well, the unknown unknowns are by far the biggest group. So how can we say how well informed we are?
