7. Trick question?

If it means, "Do I know what side of the political equation John Kerry is generally on?" I can confidently answer yes. If it means, "Do I know John Kerry's specific beliefs on bilingual education for Inuit high schoolers, or how much water should be diverted from the Plains to build condos in Scottsdale?" the answer is no. (But I voted yes anyway. It was 57-43 no a couple minutes ago.)

If the pressing issues of our day could be answered in one sentence, well, hell, even * could be president. (No, I take that back. I could, anybody else could, but not *.) John Kerry doesn't even pretend to answer complicated questions in one sentence. A lot of us aren't used to his thoughtful style of communication any more, more's the pity.

I responded to their question by calling them out. If people don't know what Kerry stands for, they haven't done their job. I advised that they can't outfox FNC but they might gain from doing real news that real people need. Research, resource, and do in-depth news instead of "sound bites" and talking points.
