I was chatting online with some friends earlier today and the subject turned to politics. We've never really discussed this before. Usually stick to work, family and one's toilet-training of her son (save that story for another time)
So I find out that she and her husband are now voting for Kerry because of John Edwards and his speech last night. They weren't going to vote for W but hadn't crossed over yet. But Senator Edwards closed the deal last night!!!! "He was just so certain in his convictions and that Kerry would be a good President"
The other gal chimed in that she was also going to vote for Kerry. She'd made up her mind a while back and was telling all her family and friends!!
Both of them said that W and this crooked administration had really blown it after 9/11 and the war by alienating the entire world.

Are still solidly bush. Whaddya expect, I live in Oklahoma. Not too many of my type here. However, my whole family is voting Kerry. My mom and her family, my dad, my wife's whole family. No way could I talk my dad's mom & stepdad into it though. My dad's dad has been a repub his whole life, but I don't know what his plans are. He's one of those old school repubs. George Bush's republican party isn't my grandpa's republican party, so I don't know.

My vote is certainly going for Kerry...not that it'll do any good.
Hey, did you happen to vote for Monte Johnson last Tuesday?

6. A point to make with old line Republicans |
|
Point out how Bush is NOT Republican in his policies-the deficit is the easiest example, but letting government invade privacy via the Patriot Act may also work (depends on the Republican). Encourage them to check out the Constitution Party or the Libertarian Party, and to vote for one of those candidates to 'send a messsage' to Bush.

12. Just keep telling him you feel sorry that he doesn't have a REAL |
|
republican to vote for. And leave it at that. The reality will hit him sooner or later and if he simply decides to stay home, that would be a major victory.

18. Ask your grandpa how he can support record deficit spending by |
|
a Republican President and a Republican Congress. After all their years of screaming about Democrats being big spenders, they get control and break all records.
Conservatives need to understand that this is a bunch of radical thugs. They aren't conservative. Barry Goldwater was conservative. These are neo-fascists.

14. Awesome. Remember to call them the night before |
|
and remind them! That is excellent. If every DU'er converted 3 voters, we'd be 150,000 votes closer. :-)

15. It is our Duty as Americans |
|
to enlighten those that are not aware... of the evils that this administration has perpetrated. If each Democrat can convince just one person to vote for Kerry, whether that person is of a different party or has never voted we would win by a landslide.
Its not easy... I had a discussion with a college graduate in education today and she thinks chimp is good for teachers...I was just about floored... she also thinks that they will still find WMDs in Iraq... and that chimp hasn't lied to the American people.
I stuck to the economy as my strong point and she said that the eight years of economic growth was because of the previous administration.... AHHHHHH!... I almost lost my cool... then she said that she was neither a Democrat nor Republican... yeah right....
However... on the bright side.... I have two others at work that are leaning towards Kerry.. and I think that they will both vote for him with a little encouragement.... neither has watched any of the DNC... so I have been giving them some of my thoughts....
One person at a time...that is how we will prevail....
