Help, "Mission Accomplished" related debunking ...

I'm in an argument with a freeper on an unrelated forum. I made a point about all of Bush's lies and used the whole "Mission Accomplished" thing as an example of how they try to make Bush out to be a hero and lie like dogs in the process.

Does anyone have a link to a page that does serious analysis of the "Mission Accomplished" episode????

2. For some reason ...
... I had the idea that they tried to spin this as Bush actually having landed the plane on the Aircraft Carrier. Yet, I found two specific references by Ari Fleischer specifically stating that the President WOULD NOT/DID NOT land the plane. I go them off the white house website. Did something slip down the memory whole??? I seem to recall an interview where Air was getting grilled on this and slipped up.

I'm about to eat a little crow on one of my points (everything else was easy). Anybody got any independent transcripts or conservative spin making it seem like Bush actually landed the jet on the aircraft carrier?????

3. He did some flying
but he did not actually perform the carrier landing. He wouldn't have the skills necessary, he was air guard, not navy. Sorry, no link...

4. He gave a speech under a banner declaring 'Mission accomplished'
he declared 'the end of major combat operations'.

Neither of those things were true. Bush's attempt to declare 'Mission Accomplished' in spite of the facts, does nothing but highlight his own poor judgement and dishonesty.

Since this picture was taken, 785 American troops have died in Iraq
