2. Are they in the top 2 percent? |
|
If they aren't, then they aren't getting squat under Bush. Maybe a marginal tax cut that they get with in other areas (health care, state taxes, property taxes, local taxes, etc.).
Also, if they are talking about those $300-$600 checks that went out in 2001, that was initiated by Democratic congressmen when they knew a cut was inevitable. Bush didn't want to do that.

6. Clinton's economy was the best this country has ever seen |
|
The growth was steady and consistent. Unemployment and poverty were way down. 22 million jobs were created. And we had a government surplus. And the wealth trickled up. The middle class had more money and spent it, so the big businesses and the wealthy got more money. Everybody did better.
And Clinton's economic stimulus package passed in 1993 without a single Republican vote. When it went through, the Republicans in congress were the gloom and doom squadron. "We just bought a one-way ticket to recession," etc. They were wrong by 180 degrees and we were right. Now Bush has undone all that and we're back to a slower economy with huge deficit spending.
The Republicans have lost ALL credibility on any economic issues. With us, the economy was great and consistently grew. With them, the recessions are deep, and the recoveries are the real "trickle".

8. The fellow posting in econ right now does not have his facts straight |
|
ask for links for his data
better yet just ignore him.
Freeper discussions are fun when there is at least some faithfulness to facts, and some logic is in evidence.
In this case I'd call it a night and ignore the nonsense.
