Micheal Moore: "When Kerry is inaugarated on Jan 20....
my camera lens will be on him starting Jan 21."

Anyone else catch that bit?

Personally I don't think Kerry is going to fuck us over or lie to the people. I've been a supporter of him since the Iowa primaries (actually since then I was wishing for a Kerry/Edwards ticket!) but I like the fact that Moore isn't going to let anyone off with a break just because they're not a repub.

I hope Kerry knows what Moore did to Bush he won't hesitate to do to him.

In other words: MAKE US PROUD KERRY!

1. In other words ...
of the people
by the people
and
for the people ....

and Moore will be there to remind him of that.

2. Bush "did" it to himself and to us...
Moore is going to take shots at whoever occupies the seat. He took some "shots" at Clinton in Bowling for Columbine. But that wasn't the focus of the film.

Kerry is ten times the man the Chimperor is

5. Well you know what I mean
When I say "did it" or "do to bush" I mean he will expose and show to the public any sort of shady activities.

3. Not to sound too cynical but....
Remember, you can always tell when a politician is lying...

I leave the punchline up to you.

4. That's the way it should be
I also hope others will buy a lens of their own and get to work. If the mainstream media wants to sleep, then we'll take it upon ourselves to make sure the politicians are doing their job.

Our government NEEDS to be watched. I don't care who's in office. Look at what's happened by NOT paying attention. Never again, I say.

8. ALL of our "lenses" should be on Kerry starting Jan 21.
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 06:29 PM by rocknation
The days when we could just vote, shut up and disappear is gone. There is a regime to put behind bars, a media stranglehold to break, a war on terror to end, a new war on povety to begin, an energy crisis to solve, an enviornment to restore. Like Mike, I'm not concerned that Kerry forget all about the promises he's made. But that's no reason to rest on our laurels! I don't want Kerry to EVER forget that he's got a million of supporters behind him--and he won't if we keep kicking his butt!

11. Ding-ding-ding!
You ar right....progressive, liberal politics will never be the same. We can thank George Bush for providing the motivation to re-energize the vast majority of Americans.

13. Good my lens
will be on him, too.

You know, maybe if bush supporters had been viewing him critically instead of becoming big ol bush apologists and spineless syncophants, the republican party wouldn't be in the shithole it's in now. In other words, they might coulda helped the situation a bit. But they didn't.

I am going to be watching Kerry. I feel for him, he's got a hell of a mess to clean up, but I'm watching. And so is the country.

And the stupid talking heads on TV better let him do his job damnit.

17. After giving the PNAC Empire the boot on January 20, 2005,
we need to turn our focus to fixing what is wrong with our country that enabled them to gain unprecedented powers to begin with. These things have to change. I think we should start with the way we do elections. We have to move more toward real democracy and away from republicanism. It this age of new technology, it can be done. We need to cultivate the leadership to take us there.

18. Not surprising
since he called Clinton the best Republican president we've had.

I'm sure he isn't exactly enamored of Kerry, either. Just more likely to have his movies go into theatres under a Dem pres than a Repuke pres.
