3. Yankees talk like that. |

Not much y'all can do about it.
It's like saying 'nucular'.

5. Short sentences. Written that way deliberately to avoid the DRONE.... |
|
It's a long speech and it has to move and make it before they cut him off on the network. He has to avoid slowing down with all the cheering, too.
I'm very happy with it so far. The drone is being minimized! He's not sounding boring. He sounds energized.

It makes you want to listen to hear what he's going to say next. This is EXACTLY what I hope he'd do--that flat nasal-ish monotone drone is GONE!

15. I agree, Gloria. He's doing very well. |

Did you notice how slowly Kennedy spoke in the quote played earlier? He came from the age of radio -- people won't sit still and listen that long now.

16. Bad start (IMHO), better now. |
|
I thought the salute and "reporting for duty" was kinda cheesy. Having said that, I think he's doing better in the body of his speech. He's no John Edwards, who I hope will take up the slack. And I am NOT a Kerry basher. I LIKE him and will sure vote for him. I have supported him to the tune of $300 so far.

is to alternate longer portions with shorter ones. It keeps your audiences attention better. That seems to be the case with this speech. Whoever looked it over did a good job editing for "listen-ability."

That happens sometimes when someone is nervous. I can't imagine he's NOT nervous -- this is the most important, pressure-filled moment of his life so far.
I am praying for him.
