I have felt this way only once before...
I am having flashbacks to 1960. Even though I was quite young at the time, I remember the incredible feeling of hope that I had with Kennedy. I admit that I am weeping, and it is from relief that we have a man who is not afraid to stand up and say what he believes, without hesitation. There have been times during the past three and a half years when I despaired and almost gave up on the potential of this nation. Like many of us here, I was dreadfully tired of the seemingly endless chorus of bullshit bombarding me every day, every hour. Now, I feel that we will not only fight the good fight, we have a damned good chance of not only winning in November, but of setting the record straight. To our international friends, I would say: bear with us, we're working on it! To quote Tocqueville: "America is great because it is good..." Let's all work to prove him right!

3. Yes!! THAT is exactly the way I felt, too....
I was only nine years old, but there was something in the way JFK spoke that made you hope and dream for a better future.

Thank you for helping me recall those feelings.

8. Don't thank me, let me thank you and everyone else here too...
Had it not been for the hope I have gotten here, that things could be better and that I am not completely crazy for thinking so, I am not sure what I would have done. The culmination of all of our squabbles over the candidates has been that we have the strongest candidate we have had in many years. I am not taking anything away from Mr. Clinton, by the way. I voted for him both times and did so happily (and had it been possible, I would have continued to do so), but Kerry had me in his camp from the beginning. I remember him during his somewhat short-lived radio program in the 70s (WBZ radio in Boston), and thought he made some sense then. Now, I see that my old impressions of him are justified. I raise my glass to him and to all of you here!:toast:

6. My feelings like this were much more recent...Orlando, 1996...
...I was in the Orange County elections office, covering returns for a Clear Channel Station...they kept telling me to "check those figures again, to make sure" (Clinton was taking Orange County)

7. I have NEVER

Felt this great.

If you know me...I was once a Repuke, but I voted Libertarian in 92, 96 and 00...because I hated the social policies of the Repukes.

I never felt like I had a home. Goddman...this feels good. I have never been part of a winning team (Bush 88 and Libertairans since)....I wanna feel what it feels like to win.

Kerry/Edwards are a great team. If we lose I wont believe it.

11. I wasn't alive in 1960, but I BELIEVE IT
I have been weeping for an hour straight. It is a new day in America and, even more importantly, the world.
