We need ONE bumper sticker that's anti-corporate media!
One sticker that we can all put on. One sticker that will be in ALL of the states. One simple sticker. Remeber the RW "Rather Biased" stickers (and the OT but simple "Bill Lied" stickers)? We need that. One sticker that is simple but cutting that we can agree on and ALL use. Make it a nation-wide movement thing.

Again, I am at a loss for the perfect message. What should it be? Simplicity is key! Bold, easy to read even by a trucker behind a Passat.

5. Thank you, but respectfully, rightards could co-opt that one.
I think it needs to relate the RW corporate bias. This would be a switch to what sheeple are used to thinking.

See, the bastards will have their convention, and these need to be out there. The people will see terrible negativity by Bushco against us, and with the stickers and F911 they may finally see the truth.

I'm not writing well. Can you grok what I'm meaning?

Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 11:16 PM by Godless Gearhead
Anyone have a pix?

On edit, I went to the FAIR webpage and looked at the swag but no sticker. I wonder if the phrase is not protected? Can a sticker maker chime in here?

Wouldn't it be great if the same sticker started appearing all over the country?

It's encompases the networks and CNN and MSRNC. I think a more general message is better.

17. "Give us back the media"
Bring the troops home.
Bring the jobs home.
Give us back the media.

Demand the Fairness Doctrine and Rule of Sevens are re-instated.
Demand a law (as opposed to just FCC's "policy") that prohibits media distortion.
Dissolve the media conglomerates, create public owned media.

20. Mopinko rightfully noted that...
the Corporate Media theme could be coopted by the right. It's too vague.

The message must be short, direct, and be a clear indictment.

End Right Wing Media Bias is the message, but it is a bit long. Damn my brain that I can't think of something.

Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 11:28 PM by lostnfound
You correctly pointed out that 'Reform the media' could be coopted by the right -- I agree.
But 'corporate' IS the problem, isn't it? It's 'the money media'..more fluff to sell stuff.

TV: Just Corporate Fluff to Sell Stuff.

Some rightwingers think it's liberal just because it shows gay people, for example..or sex between unmarried people (which they pretend is something that only liberals do). On social issues the media can be considered somewhat balanced. It's on economic, political, and war issues that it is totally right wing. Which is all part of the corporate agenda?

It helps us in the short term, and also spreads the meme that bypassing the media is the best way to find the truth. Post-election, you could just leave out the url, or put in whichever one you want.
