readily vote for him? What kind of a BS statement is that? Will he or won't he? As I recall, he never used to have trouble saying what he meant.

12. Well, what he really said was...
.. if he was going only by the Kerry he saw/heard tonight and didn't know Kerry's voting record in the Senate, he could see himself readily voting for Kerry.

But all in all, Buchanan was very complimentary of Kerry's speech tonight!

18. Watch the deconstruction occur in September.
Debates - check.
More bad news (economy, Iraq, Plame, Halliburton, Enron) - check
The polls are going against Bush and the panic will be to maintain control of the House and Senate, because if the Democratics retake the House majority......the fun is just beginning.

By September all 4 lugnuts are off the wheels and the real fight will begin there for control of the Party and the 2006 mid-terms.

:wow:

I'm shocked!

Coincidentally, I just turned off the DNC stuff and flipped to HBO. Ali G was interviewing Pat Buchanan, asking him about "Iraq's BLT's".

13. Pat's an Old Style Conservative
He's an isolationist, and the populist message resonated with his libertarianism. He doesn't like globalization and the loss of American jobs (not because he cares about the American worker but because he's worried about declining birthrates in white countries and "the death of the West").

Carlson on CNN. He also reluctantly gave Kerry his props.

19. Pat's setting himself up
in a cautious way to encourage his fellow paleocons to cast an ABB vote. I don't know if he would ever endorse Kerry outright but he has had a feud going against the BFEE since 1991. He's a right wing ideologue to be sure but on some issues - trade, jobs, Iraq - he's on our side.

Reminds me in a way of Father Coughlin throwing his support behind FDR. "Roosevelt or Ruin." Would Buchanan go that far? I don't know. He sure looks like he's setting himself up to later encourage conservatives to cast a tactical protest vote for Kerry, or at least stay home on election day. This could get interesting.

21. DON'T FOOL YOURSELVES!!! PAT IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!
Remember, a broken clock is right twice a day.

Pat Buchanan is a maniac.

He has his own reasons for hating Bush. THIS DOES NOT MAKE HIM OUR FRIEND!

Don't let his remarks make you complacent in ANY WAY!

We need to fight and continue to fight as if we were 10 points behind in the polls.

22. I agree with you about Pat but...
he at can't stand Bush* or his family. In the 2000 election he was very adamant concerning his dislike of Bush*. That was one of the main reasons he ran for President.
