My state, Illinois, has Dick Durbin in the Senate, and we will be sending Barak Obama there, as well.

I want to trust that confidence. Trust that they aren't just fooling themselves--and me--but that they KNOW that the real 'king makers' of this nation will see to it that they succeed.

Look what they will inherit: A Federal Budget that is spiraling out of control; a war, apparently from which we can not simply withdraw; potential energy and ecological crises; and a threat of genuine terrorism, whether instigated by our natural enemies or those already inside the gates; and, finally, the possibility of a Republican Congress.
