Just watched him on CSPAN. He'd make a great president.

3. And don't forget Max...
I think he was overall the best. Short and simple message....

The worst had to be Lieberman...Someone screwed up and let him in...

6. What does it mean when a general becomes a Secretary of State?
Has this been common in American History or is this a rather recent phenomenon?

8. Fairly recent, but certainly not uncommon

George C. Marshall makes a good example.

I think Clark would be a great SecState, though I suspect that
the reason Kerry didn't tap him for Veep was some personal
animosity between them. It's been rumored, but who knows.

Clark could also become the first Sec Intel (or whatever they
call the new cabinet level position).

14. I really like Obama

I think he will make a great senator.

As important as forming a wonderful administration around
President Kerry and Vice President Edwards, that's not the
entire battle, but only 1/3. We need to win the Senate, and
we need to win back the House. These are equally important
goals. Obama is running almost unopposed and by the looks of
things, the rethugs are going to conceed his victory...
there is simply no good reason for him not to be a senator for
the next 6 to 8 years.

After that, if he does well as I think he will, He will make
a fine President... and I promise, if I am still around at
that time, I will do everything that we can to get him elected.

16. good idea, but...
If the good guys win the Senate, it will likely be by a razor thin margin and we'll need every Democrat in there we can get. So, I suspect that Kerry will not make too many cabinet choices by picking from sitting Senators.

Sec of State will likely be Holbrooke.

17. No personal animosity between Kerry and Clark!
Clark came out in support of Kerry within 48 hours of withdrawing from the race. Clark did not want Veep, and I think Kerry has a spot in mind for him.

7. Since he can't be President, how best to use his enormous talents?
Personally, I'd like to see Clark move to Southern California where his son lives and 2 years from now try to unseat one of the most disgusting of Republicans, Dana Rohrbacher in the US House of Representatives. Clark could be a heroic national figure in Congress. It would also be interesting to see Clark and Tom Delay in the same Congress. Clark has a long-standing outright hatred of Tom Delay going back to the Kosovo campaign. (that is, if Delay manages to stay out of prison)

Or, Clark might play a role in a Kerry administration like...
-National Security Advisor?
-Ambassador to the UN?
-Secretary of State?
-Secretary of Homeland Security?
-Secretary of Veterans Affairs?
-National Intelligence Chief in a new cabinet level position that has been proposed? The government has 15 separate intelligence agencies including military intelligence agencies in all the service branches as well as defense intelligence. Clark might be the man to restructure US intelligence and bridge the gap between the military and the other agencies.

13. Clark will have a huge roll in the Kerry Administration.
You can tell that the two have become very close and have a lot of respect for each other.

Gen. Clark was my guy in the Primaries but I don't want to think about any "what ifs?" anymore. We have a great ticket, one that Wes is strongly behind. Wes gave one of the best speeches of the convention. He is 100% behind this ticket and so am I.

We have not seen the last of Wes! He is a star and the Dems will make sure they put his great talents to use!
