I wonder what Rove was thinking when he saw the Kerry Speech.
I was some what shocked but not overly shocked. Joe Trippi wasn't shocked as he saw that same John Kerry in Iowa. I was some what shocked at how well he did, but not shocked that he stepped up to the plate. I was more shocked at how FORCEFUL he came out against Bush.

Anywho... I wonder what Rove was thinking when he saw Kerry basically hit the ball so hard that it not only went out of the park -- it's orbiting Jupiter as a new moon. I wonder if he shit his pants.

3. Rove's "Depends" made his pants split
Seriously, if they are going to all out asault on Kerry, they are going to lose. It was as if all the pundits were baiting Kerry to make his speech harsh and unacceptable tonite, and they lost. Hope always wins over fear, and by appealing to our better selves, Kerry scored huge points.

4. Well maybe this wont be so easy heh
Kerry did great. This was the Kerry I believe in, the one who is the most liberal in the senate but who is also practical as well. No, No heh, Kerry hit 5 home runs including 3 grandslams and hit for the cycle as well. This spseech was great, I just downloaded it and when I install my iPod this weekend, its so going on there. Go Kerry.

5. Karl Rove at this moment is planing
Planing to launch a slime attack that will trump his sleaze that he did to Max Cleland.
I hate to say it...but even though that was the best speech I have heard in my life, that will not stop the evil that is known as Karl Rove.
Brace for it.

10. Then he'll be playing DIRECTLY into Kerry's hand.
Kerry wants Rove to launch those nasty attacks on him. He wants Rove to vilify him and to go after him with force. He has an answer to every question. A parry to every attack. They spent what... 90 million dollars? Trying to paint Kerry in a bad light and FAILED. Kerry flat out asked him to be a nice guy, and if Bush attacks Kerry he's gonna look like a bully and a bastard. He's going to turn people away from him and lose the moderates. The entire Convention was based around placing themselves in the center, taking Democratic Values and wrapping them in traditional Republican rhetoric. (Faith, Values, Patriotism, and support of the Military.)

Kerry knows that. That is why this ENTIRE Convention was so heavily scripted and planned. To try and keep it as positive as possible. To attack Bush but not mention his name. The whole velvet glove and a fist of iron.

KKKarl and Bush and have been backed into a corner. Their only hope is to come out swinging, but in doing so they'll lose crucial swing voters.

Kerry has played this out like a perfect political general. Kerry has thought about this long and hard and has probably planned out every possible scenario, every word he speaks has been tested and perfected to be just so. Kerry has defined, with this convention, the terms of the rest of this election.

By having the Democratic Convention first they were able to go positive, and the Republicans will be forced to go negative because they can't (in reality) support Bush's record without sugar coating and trumping it up. People are going to compare and contrast between the two.

It all goes back to Bill Clinton's speech. "They NEED a divided America, but WE DON'T." Everything has been meticulously planned, it's like a perfect chess game... masterful... artful... Bush is in Check and is about to enter Check Mate by the hand John Kerry. I think John Kerry sealed the deal tonight by setting the tone. He stole faith and defense away from Bush. He took away all of Bush's strong points. He's naked and defenseless!

Mark my words, come the day after Voting we're all gonna look back at this day and say "This was the beginning of the end of George Bush".

11. Oh I agree one hundred per-cent
The Democrats did a fantastic job of being positive and I am also sure they counted on Rove attacking them in the next few weeks; which, as you correctly said, plays right into Kerry's hands. Trust me, the Democrats planed ahead and I am SURE Rove's counter-attack was figured into the equation.
The American people will not accept it.

8. a GOP slime response will backfire!!!
Kerry cut them off at the knees, baby! You could almost hear thunderous applause across the country coming from people who were hesitant about him.

If the GOP tries to trash Kerry, it won't work. It will be like during Mrs. Clinton's debate with Rick Lazio, and Lazio walked over to her podium and acted like an asshole.

12. I bet he already knows that he's fucked
Kerry is leading in polls in West Virginia, Ohio and New Hampshire (from ARG, who pretty much nailed the primaries). New Mexico, Oregon and Michigan are safe. BTW, Kerry is also leading in Florida, but you have to assume the Jeb will steal it.

http://www.americanresearchgroup.com/

That's the ball game right there. Even if we lose Iowa. Note that Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa and West Virginia wins even losing Ohio and Florida.

Survey USA has Kerry ahead in Nevada. They did pretty well in the primaries as well.

in the same ROOM with Kerry let alone debating. I can see Rove and his team trying to figure out what emergency he can rustle up to avoid it altogether.

Must be exhausting work keeping his puppet in the game, and orchestrating all the various props and scripts and image makers.
Rove......yeah he's the great and powerful wizard of Oz...

20. Rove was taking notes
and trying to figure out how to spin it

Kerry gave a great speech, but it won't stop bush*'s attack ads

bush* only has two things to run on -- smearing Kerry and fear -- neither of which seems to have much effect on giving bush*'s numbers a bump -- but what else does he have?

as I asked the RBS (Resident Bush* Supporter) at work who told me that things were "good enough" -- "Why should we settle for mediocrity when we can do better?"
