They may have been praising the speech as you stated, but they were certainly not praising praising kerry's stand on Iraq...Brokaw's clear remark was "Where does Kerry stand"? And he repeated it just to make sure the audience understood what he was saying. Do you think Brokaw was being impartial with THAT remark??

I grew up thinking that journalist were supposed to be impartial and stay away from public commentary other than what their job required. I guess another Walter Cronkite is too much to ask for.

I can confirm that I heard Imus give high praise to Kerry for the speech, and has said for sometime that he will vote for him. Imus infuriates me regularly, but I think his soul is his own.
