No I usually don't listen to him, but I was busy at the computer and just didn't change the chanel.

It's amusing listening to him. Last night, I posted how nice it was not to have to listen to any er's & ah's. Well, they're still in all the shrub's speeches!

"results matter" part - "when it comes to jobs and the economy, results matter" - no shit and you have flunked.

Laura is the strongest reason to re-elect me.

Kerry took away any zing in a bunch of his common themes such as I wont let anyone else dictate American policy - i.e. Kerry and the UN -well, neither will Kerry.

The "we didn't play favorites with tax cuts" - because it would be to complicated to differentiate between people with $ like Cheney or even Teresa Heinz Kerry and middle class people.

11. soooo, 76% of the cuts going to the top 20% incomes(from WSJ)
isn't playing favorites? why is it so unfair for everbody say to get a $1000 tax cut and if that means someone making $50k sees a 20% tax cut, compared to someone making $300k who'll see a 5% cut. No, because the guy making $300k says THAT'S NOT FAIR, why should I be paying the bulk of America's taxes. Well your not buddy, because as a percentage the guy making $50k pays a wayyyyyyy higher % of his income towards all taxes and fees, like sales, property, social security, medicare, etc.
(me speaking to heartless con-servatives)
On some level, I can understand someone making the big bucks and looking at their tax bill and going, Damn, that's a hell of alot of money. But Jeezz, your living in a $500k+ house, probably with a housekeeper, you got a guy doing the landscaping, you drive top of the line cars, let me guess you have a vacation cottage, a boat, God knows what else, which is great, you should be proud of all you have gained, how hard you worked to get there. I'm not gunning for you to sell your boat and send the proceeds to the rest of us. but at some point, at some level, when a small minority of people in a society starts to become so gluttonous and greedy, where does the foundation exist to uphold a stable, fruitful and prosperous society?? Where?

14. I don't think JK will have a tough time defending his position at all.
Shrub's position is the usual "all or nothing", "black or white" crap that just plays into the idea that he isn't too sharp.

28. Someone should ask him to elaborate on "results matter," just to see
the deer-in-the-headlights look. He has no idea, clearly. Rove or Hughes thought it sounded good as a soundbite and are banking on us all just nodding and not trying to figure out what it actually *means.*

5. Yeah, I heard that annoying, droning buzz saw on TV as I got up
this morning. And it wasn't the construction noise next door. I guess we fell asleep with the TV on. This morning, that CRAP meets my ears. What an assault. And to think I had John Kerry's stirring words singing in my ears only a few hours ago. WHAT a difference!

I remember him saying something about "accountability." He probably thinks that's what accountants do for a living.

6. I listened a little bit to little bush this A.M.....
He's having a hard time delivering his empty words...'What I want to do is to give families more time to play with their kids, spend time with their kids.'...I laughed so loud...The fok is so out of touch.

Little bush, what hard working American families want is a job to put food on the table. American families out of work right now, are at home depressed, worried about how they will survive...they have plenty of time to play with their kids, but depression is a killer of families when you're out of work. (exactly what is happening to my neighbor)

19. In my teaching profession
I see first-hand what families are going through, and too many of them are not enjoying lives of picnics and tossing the ball. I usually have several sets of parents and/or single parents who are continuously on the move trying to chase down the cheapest rent in this little town. It makes it impossible to maintain telephone contact with them, and the children come to school tired.

to improve employment and jobs in the US - he doesn't want people working so they can spend more time with their families!

29. I love "what he wants to do" anyway. Dude, you've had unlimited power
for most of your three-and-a-half year term, or nearly. You have Congress on your side, you had the media not asking you any hard questions at all for over a year. You wanted to help out poor working families? Do tell: what's stopped you?

7. he just passed the buck to the American people
it's now OUR responsibility to make sure education is working, to make sure corrupt CEO's don't run amok, to make sure we pay for our own healthcare, and to make Social Security work.

He basically fucking said no universal healthcare and privatize social security in the same sentence. What a fucking asshole.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x715656

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A campaign worker for President Bush said on Thursday American workers unhappy with low-quality jobs should find new ones -- or pop a Prozac to make themselves feel better.

"Why don't they get new jobs if they're unhappy -- or go on Prozac?" said Susan Sheybani, an assistant to Bush campaign spokesman Terry Holt.
