Q: re E-voting: Does anyone think there is a Repub contingency
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 10:10 AM by Mayberry Machiavelli
plan to use the crappy nonverified Diebold etc. systems as a basis to challenge a Kerry win, which is looking more and more likely?

I know most here, including myself, are afraid of the Repubs using the proprietary machines and systems designed and installed by their friends like Diebold to fraudulently steal votes and the election. But do you think there is a plan B or C on their part to use this on the flip side to challenge the result if the whole thing goes rotten on them, even though they are the ones (like Jeb Bush in FLA) saying "What, me worry?" now?

1. Sure there are

If I understand your question.

There are certainly some very passionate pro-* people

#1 first and foremost are the 700 Club Types
#2 are the quasi-nationalistic, jingoistic lug heads
#3 The "tax freaks" who believe the Dems will take their money
#4 The haters. There are people out there who hate us because we are Democrats and/or Liberals. They believe we are everything wrong with this country. They would vote for a tree stump over us.

We have an enemy you bet.

2. Yes, I predicted the same a year ago
Although I think they'll launch it before the election even happens. Maybe a week before the election, "Our freedom is at stake. We've discovered that these machines are not reliable, therefore the elections will be postponed indefinitely until a reliable voting method is implemented".

3. Of course there is!
I keep recalling the voice of Tom Brokaw on the day Reagan was sworn in in 81. As the screen showed Cater and Reagan, Brokaw's voice over spoke of the 'orderly, peaceful' change over of power which defined America.

I keep hearing that and in my heart I know the junta is not America and they will not be orderly nor peaceful.

Campaign hard for Kerry/Edwards. Work to elect Congressmen and Senators who will work with them FOR America and not be hateful agents of Newt's methods. Have hope and exude confidence. But never think for a moment that the junta is gonna go without pulling every dirty, criminal, unAmerican trick in the book of Rove to stay in power. They are not another party. They are another species and they do not know limits and boundaries.

5. They're already advising GOP voters to go to absentee ballots in FL
Yep, you heard right, the Florida GOP is advising voters in districts using the new voting machine to use absentee ballots.

The fix is already in unless we Get Out The Absentee Vote!

GOTAV!!!!!!!

6. They are probably designing a number of Vote Fraud Strategies
Including accusing Democrats of doing what they have done.
