If There is a African-American President

If an African-American is elected president should affirmative action be ended, or would we have to do more to make the playing field level?

1. Well it depends on how long between now and this person is elected

and what we can accomplish to even out the playing field for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, gender, you name it.

But, no, I don't see Affirmative Action ending any time soon, even if we got an African American president in the next 20 years.

2. That is like asking if a business hires one black employee

should it then be considered to be integrated. No, in a word. Discrimination occurs in more arenas than the job you are hired to do and until there is more equity in the power structure and the economic system, we need affirmative action.
