Whoever thought of havng Kerry walk in from the back is a genius
When he entered Fleet from the rear and was shaking hands left and right, I thought that it was just like how he will walk in before giving a State of the Union address. That was a brilliant decision. Kerry as president - the preview!

2. Republican friend says Dem convention was brilliantly orchestrated
And, yes, she pointed out that Kerry's entrance was extremely similar to a SOTU address. She was quite impressed. (And is voting for Kerry, BTW)

5. his walk from the back, through the crowd was fabulous although
I got a little nervous when we were able to see the many security guys around him - this was on c-span. The guys looked laser-focused and somewhat nervous.

8. it's a relief to see them in action but scary to realize they have to be
On a lighter note, I just read that the Dems came in $10 million under their security budget allotment of $50 million.

6. It was as nice moment.
Bush is trying to rub shoulders with the "common people" (think Princess Di) on his tour but he looks so fake and uncomfortable doing it, it's really hilarious.

9. The 'common people' are all pre-screened
Won't see Bush just dropping in at a coffee shop somewhere to order a piece of pie anytime soon.
