Bush "didn't watch" the Kerry speech...he was "briefed"...but he said:
"They gave some clever speeches and made some big promises."

I'm reminded of Joe Pesci in "Goodfellas" when I hear Uncle Karl's assessment of the DNC as "clever"...clever HOW? Did the DNC make you laugh? Did it amuse you? What exactly DID the bloated sack of pig excrement tell Junior?

I also don't believe for one minute that he didn't watch it. He may have gone to bed at his regular 10:00 time but HE WATCHED IT...VHS, Tivo, doesn't matter. He watched Kerry. A man with the issues of George W. Bush would HAVE to watch it.

CNN also showed a clip of Bush in Grand Rapids, talking about "The Heart of America"..."My opponents think they can find it in Hollywood, but I think there's plenty of it right here in Grand Rapids."

Stirring. Inspirational. Motivational. Spiritual. A complete crock 'o' crap.

2. Ok lets play devils advocate
given that Capitol Hill Blue is reporting Bush is on pretty
heavy meds for his ahem, depresion... he actually may be
telling the truth. It is just the reason why he is telling the
truth that should worry you and me

15. WRONG. Bush as casual observer in the political game is a FAIRYTALE.
They want the public to think he's removed from that level so they don't pick up on the fact that Bush was a campaign strategist for three decades and worked closely with Atwater and Rove throughout that time, dirty tricks and all. He is the lowest of the scum but they put out this image of him asif the political happenings have nothing to do with him. Truth is he is a MILLION times more the political beast Clinton was, since Clinton was also a policy wonk, whereas Bush spends NO time on policy, devoting his time instead to imagery and political opportunism.

19. Have you heard what interviews he & Laura gave this week?
One is for Field & Stream, the other is for Ladies Home Journal, another was on Dr. Phil's show (to air in September); another regarding golf will air during the Ryder cup tournament (sp?) and let one more he did a fishing episode for some fishing show!!!!

He is all politics and no policy!

important parts that he'll need to know for interviews. Or maybe his lackies will have him memorize some canned responses to questions they expect that reporters might ask him at some point and not even talk about the speech at all.

Bush is too thin-skinned and uncurious to watch it, imho.

In fact watching the speech might actually hurt his ability to politic as if he listened he could be forced into a state of mental dissonance and could stray from his memorized talking points.

30. You are correct. ..
I watched this item scroll across the screen on CNN and said to myself, "What a crock!" Although, I'm sure he WAS heavily drugged while watching. They probably told him he was watching a movie. Or maybe "West Wing".

What a load of bunk that he didn't watch it.

$100.00 dollars says that he pitched a fit after he saw it.

The man doesn't read newspapers or watch the news. He really doesn't care to inform himself of anything. He lets Rove and his aides brief him on everything so he doesn't have to waste his time gathering information by himself.

9. Whether he watched or not it is the height of Arrogance to say he didn't
watch. This is the biggest issue facing America within the next few months and he didn't bother to watch??????? Does that mean he feels he doesn't need to worry because it is locked up as in BBV or is he just plain dumb?

36. Yes, more "premeditated" arrogance and "hidden meaning"
1). "I didn't watch" equals "Screw you, Kerry, watching your speech is beneath me" (And you'd better believe the reason Kerry addressed remarks at the end to Bush PERSONALLY is because he KNEW he was watching)

2). "Make me president for four more years so First Lady Pickles can remain your wonderful first lady" equals "It will be a cold day in hell before the ketchup lady sets foot in MY White House."

There's a transparent message behind everything he says. Even when he says NOTHING (stomping off stage like a spoiled child when asked about Ken Lay) the message comes through loud and clear).
